10 Celebrities Who Got Baptized Later In Life

10 Celebrities Who Got Baptized Later In Life

Kim Kardashian, a aspiring lawyer and aspiring occultist, is one of many people who have renounced witchcraft and the occult during a "spiritual struggle."

Baptism can be a significant part of a person's spiritual journey, especially for those who are religious.

Often, parents will let their children decide if they want to be baptized later in life. Sometimes people discover religion as adults, and other times religious believers want to rededicate themselves to their faith. No matter their reasons, celebrities and others also choose to be baptized in later life.

Discover why celebrities chose to be baptized.

1. Kat Von D

Kat Von D recently embarked on a journey which included the rejection of witchcraft and occultism. Kat Von D moved out of California during her "spiritual struggle" and threw books and other possessions that did not "align with who she was and who she wanted to be."

Kat wrote, "In the past few years, I've had some very meaningful realizations, many of which revolve around the fact that I did a lot wrong in the past." She added, "I have always found beauty in macabre content, but I now just needed to ask myself, what is my relationship to this material? The truth is that I don't think it's right to bring these books into my family's life, even if they are beautifully packaged and collecting dust in my shelves.

Kat's next decision was to be baptized, and in October 2023 she made that choice. Kat shared footage of the religious ceremony in which she was baptized surrounded by family and friends.

2. Justin & Hailey Bieber

Justin Bieber was baptized two times as an adult. Justin Bieber decided in 2014 to devote his life to faith. He had pastor Carl Lentz organize a baptism at the last minute. Justin was baptized at night in the bathtub of Tyson Chandler's home. Carl recalls that the baptism was one of "the most special things" he's ever been a part.

Justin Bieber was baptized once again in 2020 with his wife Hailey Bieber. Justin shared photos from the joint religious service where the couple were seen holding hands with pastor Judah Smith in a lake.

"The moment my wife @haileybieber and I were baptized as a couple! This was [one of] the most special moments in my life. Justin wrote in an Instagram post that he and his family and friends had publicly confessed their love for Jesus.

3. Blac Chyna

Blac Chyna's lifestyle has changed over the last few years. Among the personal changes Blac Chyna has made are her decision to stop posting at OnlyFans, and some of the plastic surgery procedures she had reversed. She also committed to her faith in 2022 by being baptized.

She told DailyMail.com, "I was sick of repeating the same things." "I decided to dig deeper and find out what I was doing wrong, even though I thought I was doing it right. "Now I am doing what I can to become whole."

4. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, who was visiting Israel in 2019, decided to get baptized by the Jordan River -- which many Christians believe is the same place Jesus was baptized. Demi shared photos of the experience later on Instagram. She explained that she was raised in a Christian home and has Jewish ancestors.

There is something magical about Israel. I haven't felt such a connection or sense of spirituality in a long time. "Spirituality is very important to me...I've never felt renewed in my life than when I was baptized at the Jordan River, the same place where Jesus was baptized," Demi wrote on an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

Then they continued: "This trip was so important for me, my well-being and my heart. I am grateful for the wonderful memories and the chance to fill the God-sized gap in my heart. "Thank you for having my presence, Israel."

5. Joshua Bassett

Joshua Bassett, the star of "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series", revealed in early 2023 that he was recently baptized by Bethel Church. Later, he shared a video in which he talked on the stage of Bethel Church about his decision.

"Long story, short, I was raised a Christian, and I went the opposite way in my pursuit of truth. This only led to addiction, depression and suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and other problems. Josh says in the video that no other teacher has given him the same peace as Jesus Christ.

Joshua received backlash after sharing the post. The church where he had been baptized was previously criticized for its views on homosexuality and gay conversion. Joshua, who previously claimed to be "part of LGBTQ+ community", responded by saying he is "unaware" of some policies and beliefs.

6. Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez is a Catholic who has been outspoken about it for many years. In 2018, he chose to be baptized by the Jordan River in Israel. Mario Lopez was filmed being led by priests to the Jordan River and gently lowered in the water while a choir sang.

We are standing at the Jordan River, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I'm getting baptized. It's an absolutely beautiful day. A really cool Catholic priest is going to do the honors. There's currently a sermon taking place. Then, I'll join them and bam! Mario replied, "It's on!" Later, he described the experience as "moving".

7. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian, her three children and their mother were all baptized in the Etchmiadzin cathedral during a 2019 trip to Armenia. North was present, but she had been baptized in Jerusalem at an Armenian Apostolic Church dating back to the 12th century.

"Thanks Armenia for a wonderful trip. I feel so blessed to have had my babies baptized at Mother See Holy Etchmiadzin - Armenia's main Cathedral, which is often referred to by some as the Vatican for the Armenian Apostolic Church. Kim wrote: "This church was built in the year 303 AD."

8. Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer was baptized in 2022 as part of her spiritual journey. She posted a video of the religious ceremony and explained that she "pushed God away" for years before she realized she didn't need to "walk alone".

"This is the moment I stopped walking alone. I was never alone. Jana wrote: "He was always walking beside me...I didn't believe I deserved it." "I didn't trust it. I wasn't sure if I should have. It was difficult to trust or feel comfortable with a 'father' figure from my past. I didn't believe he would remain. I thought he would leave. "I pushed God far away for many years."

She added, "But last Year in the brokenness of [quiet] times alone, I realized that I wasn't really alone. He was there. He was always there. God was waiting for me. "I have...and I made my belief public today and it feels good to know that no matter what happens on this journey in life, HE will be there with me."

9. Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe decided to be baptized with his son Tennyson when he welcomed him into the world. Russell Crowe revealed his plans in 2007 when he said he would be baptized with Tennyson in a chapel at his ranch in Australia. Russell said that he was not baptized as a kid because his parents insisted he make his own decisions. Now, the time has come.

My mum and dad let me and my brother make our own decision about God once we reached the appropriate age. Russell said that he recently began to think, "If I'm going to be baptized, why not myself?"
