Reality TV is full of drama and it can get heated when there are more than two people involved. Many love triangles have been witnessed on television, from Bravo to MTV.

These shocking stories are shown to viewers as third parties test relationships. Reality TV is ripe for love triangles, with shows such as "The Ultimatum," and "Bachelor in Paradise" proving this. Unfortunately, many of these ending in heartbreak.

These love triangles were a disaster.

1. Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix & Raquel Leviss

Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, "Vanderpump Rules", were dating for nine years before their split. It turned out that Tom was having an affair with Raquel Leviss, their co-star in "Vanderpump Rules", at least six months before Ariana and Tom split. They had been secretly hooking up and sleuthing fans suggested that they might have been hinting at their affair from Halloween costumes to matching jewelry.

Tom apologized to his fans following the scandalous cheating revelations. He said he did "fully understand" and felt the need to express his disappointment. He also asked that Tom Schwartz, his business partner, and employees be removed from the situation.

2. Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer & Tom D'Agostino

The drama between Tom D'Agostino and the ladies of "The Real Housewives of New York City” has been quite common. Tom met Sonja Morgan when they were "friends with many benefits" for more than twenty years. He also dated Ramona singer once before he started his relationship with Luann De Lesseps. Sonja was not a fan of the news about their romance and it led to drama between them. Sonja says that she was most upset by the way Tom ended their romance.

"I believe that Tom needed to tell the truth. Luann was told by Tom that Tom was seeing him. It was obvious to me that the group knew this and it would be revealed. It was obvious. She said that she was polite and said they were friends with benefits. I don't expect the men to do that. A man must make a woman feel special. He should have said, "We were really good friends, and we had something special. But then, I fell in love with Lu." This would have made us feel more special together.

After seven months of marriage, Tom and Luann decided to end their union amid rumors about his infidelity.

3. Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps & Harry Dubin

Sonja Morgan, Luann de lesseps and Harry Dubin have been involved in multiple love triangles. This time it was with real estate entrepreneur Harry Dubin. Sonja claims she was a lover of Harry for more than three decades before she fell in love with Aviva Drescher, their "RHONY” co-star. Harry and Aviva eventually got married, but they divorced in 2005. After their split, Harry took Sonja to a picnic where Bravo cameras caught him giving her a promise-ring. Fans later saw him leave with Luann, so it's not clear what the significance of this ring was. Although they have not confirmed that a hookup took place, it was mentioned in other episodes.

"We were together thirty years ago. He cheated upon me. He cheated on me. I ended my relationship with him. Then, he married Aviva [Drescher]. She threw her leg. Sonja described the relationship as "he came back to me" and she went on a picnic together with him on my show.

Although Sonja and Luann left Harry behind, he returned when Ramona Singer was spotted with Harry in 2018.

4. Kristin Cavallari, Lauren Conrad & Stephen Colletti

MTV's reality series was focused on Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari's relationships with Stephen Colletti, their "Laguna Beach” co-star. The drama between the three of them was over by the time filming began. However, the network deliberately put them in situations to rekindle the conflict. Lauren and Kristin fought it out for Stephen’s affection throughout the show. This ended up being very hurtful to Kristin who was actually in a relationship with Stephen.

"I felt very used, and manipulated. My boyfriend, at the time, would take Lauren Conrad out to dinner and buy her flowers. This would never have happened if the show and MTV were not around," Kristin stated on "Oprah: What's the Deal?"

Kristen and Lauren later apologised to one another in Kristin’s "Back to the Beach” podcast.

5. Mike "The Situation", Sammi "Sweetheart", Ronnie Ortiz - Magro

Ronnie Ortiz Magro and Mike Sorrentino had feelings for Sammi Giancola early in the "Jersey Shore” filming. Mike attempted to pursue Sammi during the second episode of "The Tanned Triangle". Sammi and Ronnie spent a lot of time together. Sammi became more interested in Ronnie when they met at a club. Sammi then made her move for Ronnie. Mike was not happy that Sammi had moved onto Ronnie, which began their long-term on-and-off relationship.

6. Eliza Isichei, Rodney Mathews & Justin Glaze

Eliza Isichei was caught in a love triangle on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise with Rodney Mathews, and Justin Glaze. Eliza was originally paired with Rodney, but she became conflicted over her emotions when Justin arrived. Rodney allowed Eliza on a date to Justin. She told him she wanted him to fight to protect her. Eliza gave Rodney her rose after some heated conversations and her clear feelings about Justin. She told Rodney the next day that she had made a mistake and had left the island to pursue Justin. He ended up rejecting her.

Rodney said later that it felt "very back and forth." "I wasn't sure what to do with that information or the situation. It was difficult, to be honest. Once again, I was speechless and confused. I didn't know what to do. It was very difficult."

7. Ashley Iaconetti and Caila Quinn with Jared Haibon

"Bachelor in Paradise," like many other shows, is not short of love triangles. Another dramatic situation was that between Ashley Iaconetti and Caila Quinn. Jared and Ashley were a couple for the second season, but their love didn't last beyond that. Jared began a relationship with Caila when he returned to season three. Despite the fact that Ashley had previously said she would not be able to stand by Jared. Ashley arrived on the island to try again to fall in love with Jared. However, she was shocked to learn that he had been reunited with Caila.

"That was the time that gave me the most anxiety and, truth be told, it led to depression. It was not a great time. Caila stated that Ashley made a mistake by promising her that she would not date Jared. "Because if she hadn't made the promise, then we wouldn’t be in this situation. She did, however, pressure me to keep the promise.

Jared and Caila ended up splitting but their relationship did not last. After many ups, Jared was finally able to date Ashley and they are now married.

8. Jo De La Rosa, Gretchen Rossi & Slade Smiley

Gretchen Rossi and Jo De La Rosa, "The Real Housewives of Orange County", were in a tense moment when Gretchen was involved with Jo's ex-fiance Slade Smiley. Jo feels Gretchen broke "girl code" when she moved on with her ex-fiance Slade Smiley, even though they met while Slade was still together.

"We were together for five decades. The funny thing is, I had some insider information. I was still in love and on-air with Slade even though I was there. I was still trying things out. Slade and me were still trying to figure things out. Slade and me tried to figure it out even after "Date My Ex", and then ....came Gretchen," Jo shared.

Despite all the difficulties, Slade and Gretchen got engaged and now have a baby girl.

9. Jake Cunningham and Rae Williams, Zay Wilson

Netflix's "The Ultimatum", a new dating series, makes it easy to get into a love-triangle. Rae Williams and Zay had been in a relationship for more than two years when they joined the show. Rae wanted to get engaged. Rae partnered up with Jake Cunningham, a fellow contestant. Zay was initially hesitant. The show ended and the couple had made a decision to end their relationship with their former partners and start dating again in real life. Unfortunately, things did not work out. Rae was unable to find a partner with Zay after trying again.

10. Randall Griffin, Shanique Imari & Madlyn Ballatori

Randall Griffin, "The Ultimatum", also got into a love triangle. He fell in love with Madlyn Ballatori, another contestant, after Shanique Imari gave him an ultimatum. They enjoyed their time together but decided to return to their original partners at end of show. Randall and Shanique parted ways after filming was finished. However, they eventually reunited.
