1. Paris Hilton & Carter Reum -- Phoenix Barron

Paris Hilton surprised her fans recently when she welcomed Phoenix. Paris explained that the name of her little boy was a decade in making. She had been working on location-themed names for some time. Paris also said that she loves the meanings of Phoenix.

"Phoenix is a good example of pop culture, but it's also the bird that flies out of the ashes and rises again to fly again. My son should learn that success and disaster can come around in our lives. Paris shared this on her podcast, "This Is Paris."

2. Elon Musk & Grimes -- X AE - 12

Grimes and Elon Musk came up with a unique name for their first child -- which turned out to be very meaningful for the former couple. Grimes explained to me that each letter of their son XAE A-12 had a special meaning for them.

Grimes wrote "X, the unknown variable" and added, "AE," my elven spelling Ai (love &/or artificial intelligence). A-12 is the precursor to SR-17, our favorite aircraft. No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Excellent in battle, but nonviolent + A=Archangel is my favorite song.

"When she was first pregnant, her dad said to her, 'If it is a girl, I think her name should Apple.' It was so sweet and conjured such an idyllic picture for me. She said that apples are sweet and wholesome, and she thought it sounded lovely on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

4. Kim Kardashian & Kanye West -- North

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West chose unique names for their children, beginning with North. Many people questioned the decision to name her after a direction when she was born. But Kim Jenner's mother Kris Jenner insists that it has more meaning.

"North means the highest power, that's what she explained to me." Kris stated that Kim believes North is their highest point together during a appearance on "The View."

5. Emma Roberts & Garrett Hedlund -- Rhodes Robert

The couple thought the baby would be a boy before Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund were born. Emma promised Garrett that if the baby was a boy, he would name him. Emma was shocked when the baby boy arrived and she kept her promise. Garrett claims that Rhodes was the name he chose partly because of his connection to his father.

"I don’t know. I wanted it to be a metaphor. I love to travel. Road trips are my favorite. There was something magical about the anticipation, the road trip and holding onto your wonderment. Before my father died, I took a three-week road trip with my father. My grandfather and I used go on rowing trips. Emma and I were avid readers so we called ourselves Rhodes scholars. Garrett shared this on "Today."

6. Jeannie Mai Jenkins & Jeezy -- Monaco

Jeannie Mai Jenkins and Jeezy had originally intended to name their daughter after the letter J. However, they were inspired by another name. Because of their trip to Monaco, France, it was "establishing what was happening for" them, they decided to name their little girl after Monaco.

Three years ago, Jeannie and Jeezy were talking on a bridge, in France, about how it felt to live together. They decided to start a family and grow it together. They named their child after the city that had changed their lives for good," Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie's co-host on "The Real", explained.

Harper, David and Victoria's child, may have a common first name but her middle name is more uncommon. David claims that both names have special meanings to the couple.

Marc Silverstein, Busy Philipps' husband was the one who came up with the name for their youngest child. Although they had thought of names for their daughter before she was born, they didn't feel like they were right. Marc had a vision of what he wanted to see in her as he came up with a name that would be able to put on her birth certificate.

Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim, his ex-wife, chose a powerful name for their son. Superman was the name that the boy was named after, and Kal-El was his birth name.

"Alice & I wanted a name that was both American and exotic, and which represented something good. Our son is American and exotic, and we think he's great. Despite that, the name sounded great to me. It has a magic ring to it: Abracadabrakal-El Shazam! People was told by Nicolas.

Cherry and Ed Sheeran wanted to name their first child a unique name when they welcomed Cherry. He explained that Cherry's unique name meant that they wanted to share it with their children.

"I know some people think it's quite strange ...[ We] just wanted her to have a unique name so that she would always be the only one," Ed stated on "Lorraine." He added that her middle name was inspired from a trip they took to Antarctica and called it "most incredible place on Earth".
