She began recording a man walking down the street and accused him of trying to run over a cat. DA says she is now facing charges for his murder.

According to authorities in Southern California, a 20-year old woman was charged with the murder of an unidentified man she believed tried to hurt a cat.

According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Luis Anthony Victor, 43 years old, was killed in an accident in Cypress on Sunday.

Hannah Star Esser was charged with one felony charge of murder. She is currently being held on a $1million bond. She faces a maximum sentence that can be 25 years or more if she is convicted.

According to authorities, Esser was driving through Cypress on Sunday night when she came across the victim, who she believed was trying run over a cat on the street.

According to the DA, she got out of her car and began recording. They say a confrontation followed that included profanity, accusations, and claims that Victor was trying to drive over a cat. According to court documents, the victim walked out of her vehicle and confronted Esser on the street.

The DA said that she then got back in her car and continued to argue with the victim, before driving off.

According to the DA press release, Esser took a 3-point turn and drove towards Victor in the direction a cul de sac. "Esser made a U turn, accelerated, and drove straight at Victor. Esser is accused in a deliberate accident of driving into Victor and striking him with her right front car.

"Victor was thrown onto the windshield and hood, and then flipped several times before landing on the pavement. Victor was declared dead on the spot," read the statement.

Todd Spitzer, Orange County District Attorney, stated that "this action demonstrated a complete disregard of human life." "The Orange County District Attorney's Office is going to ensure that this act of violence against a stranger will be prosecuted in the fullest legal manner."

Esser is due to be arraigned on October 13, 2022.
