6-Year-Old Twins Dubbed 'Little Heroes' After Reportedly Fending Off Mom's Alleged Attacker

"The little heroes grabbed toys and sticks and a hairdryer ..."

Local authorities have hailed a pair of 6-year old twins as "little heroes", after they helped their mother escape an alleged attacker.

Police in Melbourne, Florida responded to a disturbance Tuesday, September 13, and found a woman who claimed that her boyfriend had attacked her at her home.

According to police, the suspect was identified as Andrew Williams Jr. ( right). He "became involved" with the victim and was "unexpectedly shocked" when his two daughters "came to her aid."

According to the Melbourne Police Department, "The little heroes grabbed sticks, toys, and hair dryers and began to defend Williams' mother." "With the help from the girls, [their mom] was able retreat to a toilet for safety."

Williams was said to have fled the scene but was captured by police "shortly afterwards" and booked into the Melbourne Police Department. He was then transferred to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Williams was charged with simple assault and possessing marijuana, both misdemeanors. He is currently being held on $5,000.
