It seemed that every month, a new celebrity's sex tape was leaked. Although sex tape scandals are rare these days and it is frowned upon to leak private videos, the situation was different when the internet first came along. Celebrities were embarrassed for sharing private recordings back then. Many people regret their past and felt terrible after it. Leakages are rarer these days and celebrity sex tapes can now be safely stored on an external hard drive.

1. Pamela Anderson
Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson tied the knot in 1995. They then created a private sex tape. It was taken by a contractor from their home a year later and made public without their consent. It is still a scandalous tape, and was recently featured in Hulu's "Pam & Tommy." Pamela said that she was not happy that the tape was again brought to public attention, explaining that she had "blocked that stolen cassette" from her life in order to survive.
Pamela now shares her story in "Pamela": A Love Story. She admits that the experience was extremely hurtful and has had to deal with the consequences on her career as well as her relationships. Pamela, who was candidly reflecting on the incident, said that although she had never seen the tape, the aftermath was so devastating, that she believes she wouldn't have made it to the other side if she wasn't a mother.
2. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian and Ray J recorded a sex tape together in 2002. It was finally released five years later. It is not clear how the tape got into Vivid Entertainment's hands, but Kim tried to stop it being released. Kim and her legal team eventually settled for $5 million. Kim regrets the release of the tape, stating that it helped her become a household name.
"I felt that I had to work tenx harder to get people to see me as I was. It was humiliating...It's something that I would take back...If there was one thing I regret, it would be this. Kim shared her regrets with Oprah.
3. Paris Hilton
In 2003, Paris Hilton released a private tape of sex between herself and Rick Salomon (poker player). Rick and Paris sued the company that distributed their tape. Rick eventually decided to sell it himself. Although it was reported that Paris received a cut of the profits from the company, she insists she didn't see any and doesn’t want any. Paris claims that the whole incident was "really hurtful" which harmed her public image.
"Because that tape, I will forever be judged and considered as whatever they said about me due to a private moment between me and my boyfriend... I wish I hadn't met him. This is my biggest regret. I wish I hadn't met him. For months, I couldn't leave my home. I felt so sad and humiliated. Paris said that she didn't like being seen in public.
4. Rob Lowe
Rob Lowe's sextape was made public in 1988. It became an early celebrity scandal. Rob joked recently that he invented the sex tape. Although he didn’t make any money from it, Rob considers it one of the best things that ever happened to him.

5. Colin Farrell
In the early 2000s when Colin Farrell was with Playboy model Nicole Narain, a sex tape was made that was leaked. Colin and Nicole both claimed they had nothing to do. Colin even sued. He says that the aftermath of its release was terrible.
Colin said that the whole thing was "horrifying." "I was held for four hours explaining why it wasn't to be released. It's an on-demand movie that can be viewed in a hotel room. My mother then says, "Oh, I haven’t seen this work of his," and the song is purchased.
6. Eve
Eve, a former host of "The Talk", had a 2005 sex tape that she shared with Stevie J. She was initially accused of intentionally leaking the tape, but Stevie later stated that it was one Eve's friends who was touring with her. Eve claims she was upset that the FBI released it and has since contacted the FBI.

7. Dustin Diamond
Dustin Diamond, the star of "Saved By The Bell", released his own sex tape back in 2006. But it turned out that he faked everything. Dustin revealed that he used a body double, and that his face was later edited. He said that he did it to make millions, just like the other celebrities who had sex tapes.
"In my stupidity I thought that I could completely fake this. I could hire a stunt man to fill in for me. It's just my face. Dustin stated during a "Where Are They Now?" segment. Oprah segment
8. Kid Rock
A video distribution company tried to release a tape in 2006 featuring Kid Rock, Scott Stapp, Creed singer, and an unidentified woman. Scott and Kid Rock were able to bring legal action against the release. Although it didn't matter to Kid Rock, it could have been disastrous for Scott's career. Kid Rock recounted the backstage antics leading up to the recording. He explained that Scott came in with a camera and knew that it would be lost.
"There is a knock on the door, and Scott Stapp has a camera. He says, "What's the matter?" He's like, 'What's the matter?' I'm like, 'Whaddya mean what's the deal?' He asked me if I would mind if he did. I was like, "Nah, ofcourse I don't mind," man. And then I'm like, 'Aren’t you in a religious band?' I was trying to be a friend, but he said that I was just trying my best to be. You just know it's coming out some day. "If it did, which it almost did," Kid Rock said to Classic Rock.
