FX's It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia cast doesn't stop at making jokes on the screen. The actors had some of the most memorable moments on the set. DeVito pulled a cruel trick on his co-stars in the beginning years of the series that still keeps them laughing.

Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney revisit some of their favorite moments on The Always Sunny Podcast. The three of them shared their memories of DeVito's off-set moment in a recent episode.

Day explained that Day and Day were staying in a Washington D.C. hotel before the screening. FX probably pays for the hotel and the flight. We arrive at the hotel, and the staff apologize for not having booked a room.

The stars believed FX only had paid for one room for them all. Day said, "It didn’t surprise us." It was too early in the show and we had such a small budget. We were like "Oh man." We were like, "Oh man.

The staff at the hotel went one step further by telling McElhenney that all other rooms were booked and that they would have to stay in the room with the best view. Day looked at McElhenney and commented, "I recall you were very unhappy." McElhenney agreed and stated, "I don't handle these situations well."

McElhenney felt disregarded after they had all just got off a long flight. The hotel staff asked the actors to take a peek at the room and they agreed. The hotel staff informed them that there was a cot in the corner. This shocked them.

Howerton admitted that "it was a level we had grown accustomed to," Just as the exhausted actors were about to leave the room, DeVito appeared from the closet. They realized that they were being pranked by the best.

The truth is that the prank could not have been pulled off without the outstanding acting of the hotel staff. McElhenney also recalled that they were only four seasons into the series. McElhenney said, "Everyone knew the show everywhere we went... It was not crazy to suggest that we all stay in the same place."

It's worth it to be pranked by DeVito!
