That's $11,000 worth.
The $550 deposit was returned to a pregnant bride-to be who made sure that no one else was getting married.
The video of the woman cutting 32 wedding gowns at $11,000 cost has gone viral on Chinese social media.
Local reports indicate that the woman booked a package with Jiangjin District's bridal company in April 2021, ahead of her October 5th ceremony. It cost 8000 Yuan ($1260).
After finding out that she was pregnant in August, she asked for a postponement of the wedding. In November, she asked for a cancellation and for her down payment to be returned. They refused.
She initially accepted the offer from the store to put the money towards her child's 100th birthday celebration, which is a traditional milestone in Chinese culture.
"Cut" to January 9, when she arrived suddenly at the store with scissors in her hand.
The video shows the customer making her way through the store, cutting holes in the many dresses displayed, while a worker calmly films her on her phone.
You can hear the employee telling her repeatedly to stop worrying about what she is doing and to remember that one dress is worth many thousand yuan.
"Several thousands? She calmly replied, "It's fine, even though they're worth many tens of thousands." And she continues to cut.
She ruins the inventory of the store and even asks the employee whether she will call the police. She assures her that if she does, it's okay.
After her calm, eerie rampage, she just sits down and waits to be taken away by the police. She is eventually taken away by the police.
According to reports, the woman apologized later and her husband-to be offered to pay the store 60,000 yuan ($9400). However, the manager maintains that they have yet to hand over any money.
Social media comments are split. Some say she should face criminal charges and be imprisoned. Others insist that pregnancy hormones were to blame and she should be forgiven. However, most agreed that the store should be compensated fully.
