Alana "Honey Boo Boo Boo") Thompson broke her silence about the devastating news that Anna "Chickadee", her sister, was diagnosed with cancer.

After TMZ announced that Anna was suffering from stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, Alana posted to her Instagram Stories for her reaction.

The 17-year old reality star added, "This is what you mean when I say that you never truly understand what someone is going through at their home," alongside a screenshot from TMZ's article. "No matter how well-known they are. Yes, I am very famous. But normal s--- happens for me and my family. Y'all need to understand that ASAP."

According to TMZ and family sources, Anna, 28 years old, was diagnosed with cancer in January according to TMZ. According to the outlet, Anna was suffering from stomachaches and after multiple tests, she was diagnosed with cancer in her liver, kidney, and lung.

According to TMZ, Anna went through her first round chemotherapy last month and already has hair loss. Doctors say they are waiting to see how Anna responds to chemotherapy before moving forward. Anna's family appears to be "very optimistic" despite her diagnosis.

According to the Cleveland Clinic adrenocortical cancer is a type of cancer that forms in the "outer layer (cortex)," of the adrenal glands. It is considered "very rare", with one in every one million cases being diagnosed each year.

Anna and Alana are "Mama June Shannon's" daughters. She is also the mom of Jessica "Chubbs", 26 and Lauryn Elfird, 23, respectively. Anna appeared on "Toddlers & Tiaras" in 2009, and starred in many seasons of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Boo."

TMZ reported that Anna's family has gathered support to care for her and her children following her diagnosis.

Anna is the mother of two children. She shares Kylee (7 years old) with Michael Cardwell and is mother to Kaitlyn (10 years).

Anna is currently dating Eldridge, Toney. TMZ claims that she has been supporting Anna during her cancer treatment.
