Every American knows Nancy Pelosi , Speaker of the House. But what about her daughter? Alexandra Pelosi has a long history as a journalist and documentary filmmaker.

Her First Documentary

Alexandra is the youngest child of Paul and Pelosi's five children. She holds a B.A. Loyola Marymount University awarded her a B.A.

Alexandra started her career as a documentary filmmaker during her time as a field producer for NBC. While covering George W. Bush's 2000 presidential campaign, Alexandra brought along a handheld camcorder. Journeys with George was her first documentary. It featured her footage from 18 months covering the campaign trail. It was nominated for six Emmy Awards.

The filmmaker left NBC to work for HBO, and continues creating documentaries such as Diary of a Politic Tourist and Friends of God - A Road Trip with Alexandra Pelosi. Alexandra, a multitasker expert, wrote books while creating these films.

Her latest Doc examines how 'Social Media changed the course of American History'

Alexandra's documentaries usually focus on political subjects and campaign campaigns. However, she has also made films about evangelical Christians and the homeless population of Orange County.

In 2020, her latest documentary, American Selfie - One Nation Shoots itself was released. The film shows "a selfie of America in 2020", a year when social media and smartphones changed American history.

Alexandra stated in an interview with the Guardian, "Everyone I spoke to, regardless of who they were going vote for, or if it was not at all, or if they didn't know who on the ballot, would agree that social media is destroying their mental health." It's destroying our conversations.

Alexandra is as busy as ever making documentaries and writing books. But she also has time to spend with her family. She married Michiel Vos, a Dutch journalist, lawyer and U.S. correspondent in 2005. They had their first child, Paul, in 2005. A second son, Thomas, was born the next year.
