They were with me. The actress, who played the lead in "Twin Peaks", said that her parents were present when she performed.
Alicia Witt said her stint on "The Masked Singer", couldn't have been at a better time.
On Wednesday's episode, the 47-year old "Walking Dead", alumnus was revealed as Dandelion.
Although Witt's performance came shortly after she suffered a number of personal tragedies, including breast cancer, reconstructive surgeries and the death of her parents suddenly, the actress expressed gratitude for the chance that was presented to her at just the right moment.
The "Younger" artist confessed that she believes her late parents are responsible for her invitation on "The Masked Singer."
Witt explained to Fox News Digital that she believed the timing was everything. "I had just finished breast reconstruction. "I was just coming out of breast reconstruction. I was looking through my emails and groggily contacting my friends to ask how I did."
She recalled, "And then there was the invitation to be on 'The Masked Singer'." I think it was my parents who were responsible for the coincidence. They are helping me get through this.
In June 2022, Witt had a mastectomy after a battle with breast cancer.
The news of "Nashville's" health battle was announced six months after the death of her parents Robert and Diane Witt in their Worcester, Massachusetts house following a welfare inspection in December 2021.
She also confessed that she was emotional when thinking of her parents, before her first show.
Witt said, "It made me cry to think that they would really have enjoyed watching these performances." The thought immediately following was that they were definitely watching the performances. They were with me. "They were with me when I performed them."
Instead of thinking, "Oh, I'm so sorry, they'll never get to see that," She said, "I think they are not only seeing it but that the timing helped me remember they are with me every step of this journey."
