All About Princess Anne’s Husband, Who Has No Royal Title And Is Rarely Seen In Public

On December 12, Princess Anne celebrated her 30-year wedding anniversary with Sir Timothy James Hamilton Laurence. Laurence is seldom seen even though the couple has been married for over 30 years. Laurence is a non-working member the royal family and has never been awarded a royal title.

Laurence is supportive of Anne, second child and only child of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, even though he doesn't hold a title of royal. Laurence is supportive of Anne, despite the fact that the princess is hardworking and a member of the royal family. He quietly stands by his wife. What do we know about Anne?

Laurence was first born in Camberwell (London) on March 1, 1955. The New Beacon Preparatory School in Camberwell, London provided a remarkable education to the 67-year-old. Sevenoaks School was also attended by him. Laurence went on to Durham University and received an honors degree as a geographer. He also edited the popular student newspaper Palatinate.

He graduated from the Royal Naval College Dartmouth after which he continued his career. He was a member of several ships, including the Royal Yacht Britannia. He rose to the rank in 1978 of lieutenant and was promoted to commander in 1985.

Laurence met his wife thanks to his mother-in-law

Laurence was much more than a great naval commander. Laurence's reputation was so strong that he was made an equerry in 1986 to Queen Elizabeth II. Laurence was the ideal choice for the role of queen's personal assistant, which was often filled with someone from the armed forces. He also had the chance to meet his future spouse while serving as equerry. It wasn't without controversy.

In 1989, Laurence & Anne were rumored be close and could have an intimate relationship. Personal letters were stolen from Anne and leaked to The Sun. This British tabloid was founded in 1989. This was false because Anne was still married to Captain Mark Phillips at the time.

The identity of the letter's writer was not immediately revealed by Buckingham Palace, but it was later confirmed that the letters were from Laurence. Buckingham Palace stated that the stolen letters were sent to Princess Royal by Commander Timothy Laurence of Queen's Equerry. We don't have any information about the contents of the personal letters that were sent to Her Royal Highness from a friend. These letters are being investigated by the police.

The Turning Point: A Scandalous Relationship Into a Supportive Marriage

After the divorce of Phillips in 1992, the princess was able to marry Laurence. The couple married at Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral Castle on December 12, 1992. It was intimate and only 30 people attended. The small affair was attended by the queen, Prince Philip, as well as Anne's children, Zara Tindall (and Peter Phillips).

After the wedding, they moved to Gatcombe Estate in Gloucestershire. They have since moved back to their Buckingham Palace apartment. They are currently living in an apartment at St. James's Palace in London, which is the highest royal palace.

Laurence was a frequent guest at the wedding, as well as being the queen's equerry. Although the monarch did not give her son in law a royal title, he was made a Knight Commander of Royal Victorian Order and served as a personal aide de camp to the queen.

Laurence felt the warmth of the late queen earlier in the year. Her son-in law was allowed to join her on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after Trooping The Colour during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. While it was initially stated that Queen Elizabeth would flypast with only working royals, Laurence and two of her grandchildren made exceptions.

Rise in the Royal Navy Ranks

Laurence was a member of the royal family but he also served his time in the Royal Navy, until he retired in 2010. He was promoted to captain in 1995 and became vice admiral by 2004. Laurence retired in 2010 and has continued to pursue charitable interests. He has also served on several boards. He is currently the chairman of English Heritage Trust.

Laurence is still not in the limelight, but he has been supportive of Anne for the past thirty years. Laurence was Anne's loving husband when the queen died earlier this year.

Laurence was actually at his wife's side, as Anne rode six hours to join the coffin of the monarch. The journey started at Balmoral, where she died, and ended in Edinburgh. There, the queen restrained until she reached London.

Laurence was with his wife Laurence on the flight that brought the coffin of the late queen to London. He continued to support Anne as he walked alongside her behind the coffin of her majesty at the funeral. As the coffin was being brought to London by the RAF from the north, he joined his wife and walked alongside the monarch's coffin at her funeral.

We expect nothing less from the man who is such a loving husband.
