Amy Schneider, a 'Jeopardy" Champ, is the First Woman to Join A Special Club

Amy Schneider is quickly making a name for herself in Jeopardy., and more! After playing 28 games, she just became the first woman to earn $1 million on Jeopardy!. She is now the fifth millionaire on the show, with $1,019 600 in her winnings.

Schneider Breaks Multiple Records

Schneider isn't the only one who has broken this record on the game show. On December 29, she won her 21st contest, making her the record holder for most consecutive wins by women. Julia Collins, 2014 contestant, won 20 games in succession.

Schneider stated that becoming a millionaire is both "amazing" as well as "strange". It's not the sum of money that I expected would be associated with me. It's an honor to be part of the history of the game. Although the money may not feel real, it is something I will always be proud of."

Schneider shared her experience on Jeopardy! Since fifth grade, it has been a dream of Schneider's. She was also voted "Most Likely" to be on Jeopardy! One Day" by her eighth grade class.

Advice for 'Jeopardy’ Hopefuls: "Just Be Curious"

Amy Schneider, an openly transgender contestant, also qualified for the Tournament of Champions. She stated that she didn't grow up seeing positive stories about transgender people. Schneider said that she was inspired by Kate Freeman, who is believed be the first openly transgender contestant in Jeopardy!.

Schneider said, "I am so incredibly thankful." Schneider continued, "I am so incredibly grateful," she said. Schneider said to the New York Times, "Just be curious." "Wanting to learn a lot is the best way to get a lot done."

In an essay she wrote for Defector, she stated, "Knowledge can be a shield, a sword and a joy, as well as a duty and joy. If you want to not only know, but understand everything, you will become more powerful each day and no one will stop you."

Schneider, who has now made her millionth on the show is focusing on retaking James Holzhauer as professional sportsbettor, who won 32 games consecutively and $2.46million in 2019.
