"West Side Story" actress, Jennifer Lawrence, is taking the memes surrounding her opening performance at the British Academy Film Awards with a smile.

Ariana DeBose has broken her silence about her viral rap at the BAFTA Awards this year.

Oscar winner made a comment about a meme that poked fun at her opening number performance during the ceremony.

After the show's opening monologue, the 32 year-old actress performed "Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves" as well as "We Are Family", before moving into a unique rap that highlighted the female nominees.

Later, DeBose received flack online for her performance. Twitter users called the lyrics "cringy" as well as "painful". The most popular lyrics of the night were "Angela Bassett did it, Viola Davis my ‘Woman King’ Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee you're genius, Jamie Lee we are all of you."

After receiving an overwhelming number of negative comments, the Westworld star quickly deactivated her Twitter account.

The actress posted a series memes mocking DeBose's lyrics to Instagram. She also left a comment about the endless internet jokes about the number.

One meme included a grandmother saying that Angela Bassett did it, to which her granddaughter replied, "Sure Grandma. Let's get to bed." Another used a photo showing George W. Bush, the former president, learning about the attacks of September 11. The photo showed a man whispering to his ear, "Sir Angela Bassett did it."

DeBose wrote simply, "Honestly, I love this."

BAFTA Award Show Producer Nick Bullen came out in support of "West Side Story", claiming that her and her team had organized a huge success.

Bullen stated that he has no regrets regarding the number and feels it "spoke to our desires."
