Bebe Rexha, a singer and songwriter from the United States, readily admits to having gained weight. She attributes it to PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). On Jennifer Hudson's eponymous show she said she had made a mistake by reading comments online.
Bebe Rexha gained weight. She knows it. She knows you know it. Why is this such a hot topic?
During an appearance on the "Jennifer Hudson Show," the singer confessed that she has no idea as to why people are still obsessed with weight. She said her weight gain was due to Polycisystic Ovary Syndrome.
She told Hudson that it was one of the main reasons women gain weight or are obese. "I've literally gained 30 pounds in a matter of days, or maybe even more. But we have to be positive. "Show people you love."
The singer of "I'm a Mess", admitted to making the mistake of reading comments. This is a no-no for everyone, and for their mental health. Even knowing that, she still did it.
She said, "The first thing that came up was 'Bebe Rexha's weight gain'." "And I said... listen, it's inevitable that we gain weight in the public spotlight, especially since I was much thinner. But that's part of the deal."
She said that she is not upset about the topic because "it's true." She also stated that "when you are exposed to things like this, it can affect your mental health."
She continued to stress that people need to be more considerate of those who are on the other end of their comments. She said, "You never know what someone is going through." "It's a little tough, but it feels like 2023." "We shouldn't be discussing people's weight."
Rexha opened up last month about the "bebe Rexha Weight" TikTok suggestion. She said at the time that seeing it as part of a TikTok search suggestion was "so upset" because she has "always struggled with her weight".
She said that "it's not mad because it's real," but also "it's just bad."
Fans expressed their love and support of Bebe in the comments. Many users said that Bebe, the singer of "Meant to Be", has helped them in their journey to improve their body image.
Kandee Johnson, a YouTuber, first called TikTok out for its "toxic and horrible" policies regarding video search bars. She added: "You are beautiful and perfect Bebe!" "I'm sending an extra big hug to make up for even the smallest bit of this that upset your heart!"
Bebe also reposted the comment of a fan who said, "As Long as YOU'RE happy, it doesn't matter !!!! Do not starve yourself to lose your happiness !!!!!!!" The three-time Grammy nominee said "I work on myself every day" alongside the tweet. Just a little discouraged right now.
Bebe has spoken out about her past struggles with weight and body image.
The "Me, Myself & I'" singer, who shared a TikTok clip in December 2021, was candid in telling her fans that she didn't feel "good" about herself at the time.
Bebe says in the video, "It's the holidays. I know that we are all supposed to, like, be merry, and say, 'Yay! It's the holidays.' Which I am...ish." "I'm the heaviest that I've ever been. "I weighed myself and don't want to share the weight because I'm embarrassed."
She continued emotionally, "It's more than that." "I feel disgusted, you know, in my own body."
The "Home' artist continued, "I don't post as much because I feel bad in my skin. When I feel bad, I don’t want to blog. That's honestly why I haven't posted as much in the past year or so." All the body positiveness that comes from me probably stems out of confusion and hurt. I don't even know how to love or help myself.
Since then, she has posted a number of videos that are upbeat, including dancing, hanging on a boat wearing her swimsuit, and even rocking out at Coachella.
Hudson pointed out that despite her personal struggles with body image, Rexha always tried to keep a positive focus and push a message about body positivity. Hope she hears the message too.
