She claimed that she had not heard from him for 27 hours.

After reporting her husband missing, a visually impaired woman discovered that he had been murdered in her home. She called police.

On December 29, at 6 pm, a woman called Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's detectives reporting that she hadn't heard from her husband William Robert Lang Jr. since 3:00 PM the previous day. This was something she described as unusual.

Deputies arrived at Grand Ecore's home and began interviewing the woman. They noticed that all the vehicles of the missing man were still parked at this property.

They also found a broken window as they toured the house and asked permission to go inside to search for Mr. Lang. They found Lang dead inside, with multiple gunshot wounds.

The police immediately taped the scene and started a homicide investigation. The body was taken to the autopsy.

Detectives obtained a warrant for the search of the property in order to find evidence. They began to canvass the area for surveillance video and interview relatives and friends of the deceased. However, no suspects have been identified.

Stuart Wright stated that "our investigators are working tirelessly to arrest the individual/s involved in the murder Mr. Lang,"

According to reports Lang ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate in 2010. He was described as a conservative.
