The actress joked that she was "duped" and had been married to the retired tennis player between 1997 and 1999.

Brooke Shields opens up about her attempts to contribute to Andre Agassi's 2009 memoir "Open" -- and how it ended up backfiring.

The actress, who was promoting her Hulu documentary "Pretty Baby" on WTF with Marc Maron, claimed that Agassi and his team reached back to her years after her 1999 divorce, so she could give their approval on some stories.

But, "The Blue Lagoon," said that the former tennis player did not use any of her notes.

"He asked me to review all of the parts that I was in. I thought that was generous. Shields, 57 said that he spent five hours with Maron and his ghostwriter. "I made sure that he knew I wrote my own books. I put that in there."

She continued, "He said, "I don't recall dates, but I have diaries and you have all of this stuff, so please fix what I don't know." "And I replied, "Okay."

Shields stated that there were many errors and that everything was not perfect. Shields claims that her ex did not make the suggested changes despite all the apparent errors.

She said that she received a letter, a typed one, about a month later, thanking her for her time. Unfortunately, I was unable to change any of the things you corrected, as that's not how my memory it. It is my book. And I was like "What ?!'"?"

According to the author of "There Was a Little Girl", she spoke with her editor and was told that it was the "oldest trick in her book."

Maron was told by Shields that she could say to Maron, "When you go on to press, you can tell her, 'Oh yes. I gave it to you to read.'" "And that means that I signed off on the document, which I did not." Maron joked about Shields being "duped" and she laughed, "I got duped in an enormous way."

Shields also looked back on her marriage to Agassi earlier in the conversation.

She said, "I married a very controlling man." "I married an industry. I was married to a conglomerate. It was a place I could go, and it was something I loved. I needed to be able separate from my mom and needed a cushion. He took care everything."

She shared that "all of a sudden I was safe", and added that she "laughed quite a lot" throughout their relationship.

According to "Suddenly Susan", the star of "Suddenly Susan," she believed that they would stay in touch because their divorce was "not too ugly." But that was not the case. Shields stated, "That's not who he is." "When you're out, you're out."

The actress from "Endless Love" shared her story of how her guest appearance on "Friends", last month, affected her relationship to Agassi.

Shields was a guest star in an episode entitled "The One After the Superbowl Part 1" in 1996. She played Erika, a woman who became obsessed with Joey Matt LeBlanc over Dr. Drake Ramoray's gig on "Days of Our Lives".

According to Shields, her ex-husband was present in the studio audience during filming and she was seen licking LeBlanc's hands in a scene. She claims that the tennis player broke his trophies during a fit of rage when the couple returned home.

After Agassi had been allegedly "stormed away" from the studio, the "Pretty Baby” star said that they had a heated discussion.

He said, "Everybody's making fun" of me. That behavior made me laugh. I'm like, 'It's comedy! "What is the matter with your ex? Shields spoke before reflecting on her ex-husband's struggles with addiction. He wrote about it in his 2009 autobiography. "I later learned that he was addicted at that time to crystal meth, so that irrational behavior that I'm certain had something to do that."

"Who wins for this? It's not -- it's impossible!" She recalled Agassi telling her that he had "smashed all his trophys."
