Alec Baldwin believes his career is over the accidental death of Halyna HUTCHINS. Only time will prove if he is right. Baldwin is now part of a long list of celebrities who have been responsible for the death or injuring another person. Here are some.
Matthew Broderick
Matthew Broderick was on vacation in Northern Ireland in 1987, after the success of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. He drove into the wrong lane, killing Anna Gallagher as well as Margaret Doherty on August 5. Jennifer Grey, her co-star and girlfriend, nearly became paralyzed when she broke bones. Broderick was only fined $175 for careless driving. Doherty opposed Broderick's appearance in a Hyundai commercial after he was convicted of careless driving.
Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner, an actress and activist for animal rights, accidentally ran into Kim Howe's car in February 2015. Howe was killed and several others were hurt in the accident. Jenner was the subject of multiple lawsuits but all were dismissed. Jenner was just months away from coming out as transgender when the crash happened. South Park quickly made a movie about this incident. Jenner is prominently featured in the ninth season of the show, often driving recklessly.
Brandy
Brandy, a R&B singer and Last Summer star, was also in a fatal car accident. Awatef Aboudihaj, her driver, was also in the car she was driving when she hit her. She died from her injuries. According to police, Brandy did not notice a slowdown in traffic which led to a multi-car accident. Although she was not arrested, she still faces multiple lawsuits from outside the court including Aboudihaj's parents and husband. Brandy said later that she still didn't understand the whole incident and why it occurred, but that she had a lot of heart and would be happy to help anyone who was affected.
Vince Neil
Vince Neil, Motley Crue's frontman, was having a good time with Hanoi Rocks in late 1984. After a long night of drinking Neil and Nicholas Dingley, the drummer of the band, decided to drive. Neil, who was intoxicated, struck another vehicle, injuring the occupants and causing serious injuries. Dingey died. Neil spent 15 days in prison after he paid $2.6million to the victims of the crash. Later, the band dedicated Theatre of Painto Dingey.
Dog The Bounty Hunter
Dog the Bounty, who was then just Duane Chapman was charged with first-degree killing. He was his friend's getaway driver in 1976 when Jerry Oliver was killed over a dispute about cannabis. He was sentenced for five years, but only served 18 months.
Later, Chapman said that it was his experience in the state penitentiary which inspired him to become an bounty hunter. He told Hannity & Colmes that he jumped an inmate who was trying to escape. The guard walked up and grabbed the inmate. This was where his infamous career began.
Phil Spector
Phil Spector's Let it Be and the 60s-defining Wall of Sound were legendary for decades. He's still remembered today as a serial killer. Lana Clarkson, an actress, was killed in her Los Angeles home in 2003. One limousine driver overheard Spector saying "I think she just shot me" after hearing a gunshot sound at the house. The trial was made into a media circus and eventually became an Al Pacino bio-series. Spector was found guilty of murder after a jury that was hung. Spector died in COVID-19.
Felicia Pearson
Felicia Pearson is most well-known for her role as Snoop in The Wire. The character was a serial killer with a complicated past. Pearson was charged with second degree murder long before she began acting. She was 16 when she was convicted of Okia Toomer's shooting and sentenced to eight years. After six and a quarter years, she was released. She was able to get a place on The Wire after a chance encounter with Michael K. Williams.
Charles S. Dutton
Although you may not be familiar with Charles S. Dutton's name, you have probably seen him perform. In August Wilson's Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, his 1984 debut, he received a Tony Award nomination. Chadwick Boseman was later nominated for an Oscar for his role in the movie of the same title. Hutton also appeared in Oz and Alien 3. He was also involved in Menace II Society. Dutton, who was 16 years old, pleaded guilty to manslaughter following a knife fight. Dutton was released in less than two years, but he had to serve eight more years for punching a guard.
Lillo Brancato Jr.
Lillo Brandcato Jr. was a star in The Bronx Tale. He also had a memorable stint as Matthew Bevilacqua, on The Sopranos. After falling into addiction, he turned to robbery. 2005 saw a robbery go wrong, and an off-duty police officer was shot to death in a gunfight. Brancato was sentenced to a 10-year term for second-degree murder, but only served four years. Now, he claims he is now 13 years sober and has resumed acting. It seems like he has turned his life around.
