Named Part of Time 100 Next
Charli began the year strong by being named to Time 100 Next. This list compiles emerging leaders who shape the future. Charli was not only the youngest person on the list, but Jennifer Lopez wrote her profile. Charli was praised by the superstar for her dancing skills and ability to connect with her audience.
Charli connects when she dances. She is the hottest teenage star, and that's not just because she dances on TikTok. She is the best at it. People want to dance like her. Her authenticity shines through on the screen. It's a huge responsibility to be at such a high level. Charli proves that there is no need to wait for someone to discover your talents. New drink created with Dunkin' Donuts
Charli and Dunkin' Donuts teamed up again in February to launch "The Charli cold foam," a new signature drink. The collaboration came six months after Charli's first partnership with Dunkin' Donuts, where she had created "The Charli," a limited-edition drink. The new Dunkin' Cold Bew she created was three pumps of caramel with Sweet Cold Foam and cinnamon sugar. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Teen Prom Program of Dunkin Joy in Childhood Foundation.
It's a nice alternative to my regular drink on days I feel like something new. Charli said that the new sweet cold foam was a great addition and that the cinnamon sugar adds some sparkle to it." Charli shared this with People.
Created a Collection with Pura Vida
Charli was a novice at jewelry design when she created her own line with Pura Vida. Charli was involved in the design of all five bracelets.
"I wanted to make something I could wear everyday and that my friends would also love. Pura Vida bracelets are the only brand I wear. I've been wearing them for years. They're comfortable and don’t make my wrist feel bloated. Charli stated that the design process was fun and that the pack had a positive and upbeat vibe.
Wins Her First Kids' Choice Award
Charli was able to attend her first Kids' Choice Awards, which took place in March. She ended up winning her own blimp. Charli was named "Favorite social star" by fans, beating other stars like Emma Chamberlain or Addison Rae. Charli even slimmed down at the end!
"I want to thank everyone who has supported me along this journey. Each and every one of your comments are so sweet. It fills me with joy to see them all. Without you, I wouldn't be where I am today. Charli stated that she means the world to her during her acceptance speech.
Starred in "America's Sweetheart", Music Video
Charli and Chase teamed up in April to star together in the music video for America's Sweetheart. This song was inspired by Charli. Chase wrote the song during the pandemic, when he was in quarantine at home and was going through a difficult time with Charli. He says that despite their history, he would not have chosen anyone else to be his star in the video.
"[The Past] is something that we've gotten from and have grown...This makes so much sense. Why wouldn't it be her in the video?" Chase stated that the vision she already had for the video made it so easy to have her in it. She also loved the outcome.
Launches Her Social Tourist Clothing Collection
Hollister approached Charli, her older sister Dixie, about co-designing a clothing line. They couldn't refuse the chance. After working closely with the brand to select the products, design, branding and position the brand, Social Tourist was launched to the public in May. Six collections have been released by the sisters since then. They have had the opportunity to show off their individual style. Some items are more Dixie-like, while others reflect Charli's feminine style.
"Besides being inspired by my father's clothing business, dancing has always been a major part of my life. My grandmother taught me how to sew, so I was fascinated to make clothes people feel confident in. I also remember going to competitions and seeing all the participants in their custom-made pieces. Charli stated that she wanted everyone to feel the best ever and be able to walk out of their house in Social Tourist.
Appeared at Celebrity Family Feud
Charli and her family of D'Amelio gave their best when they appeared on "Celebrity Family Feud." As they fought it out for charity, the group faced JoJo Siwa's family. Although the D'Amelio's did not advance to the final round of the game show, they gave their best on their debut.
Premiere D'Amelio Show
Fans got to witness the real life of Charli as "The D'Amelio Show" premiered at Hulu. It was the culmination a wild year. Charli was able to share a side of her that she hadn't shared before, as viewers were able to see the family's adventures. Charli and Dixie were able to share their thoughts about mental health and how it has affected them since their sudden fame. It was a difficult adjustment for both of them.
Fans loved the show's vulnerable side and it was renewed for another season.
We were overwhelmed by the number of feedback and messages we received after sharing our imperfect journey on "The D'Amelio Show" and seeing how others can relate with mental health issues that are associated with social media. Charli and Dixie released a statement.
