Chelsea Handler opens up about her split with Jo Koy and where they stand after their split earlier in the year.

Brooke Shields, a Brooke Shields host of "Now What?" made an appearance on Tuesday's episode. Podcast, 47-year-old actress from "Chelsea Does", revealed that she and Koy had not been able to mend their relationship after she felt that he would not take "accountability for his actions in the breakup."

Chelsea and Jo were longtime friends. They decided to make their relationship romantic in 2021. After dating for nearly a year, the former couple split. Handler stated that she hadn't spoken to Kay in a while.

Chelsea spoke out about how she thinks the two of them could heal their friendship. It was ridiculous. "I don't believe we can have friendship without some accountability and some responsibility."

She stated that their relationship "devolved" over the course of their 11 month romance.

Handler explained to Shields that there were some behaviors on which we could not agree. "It felt like I would have had to give up on myself. This might have been okay if I was 20-25. But that was not what I wanted to do.

Chelsea stated that while she acknowledged her love for him, she wasn't going to let him go. "I was like, "I'm not going change the way I behave to make you more comfortable." "I'm not doing this."

The comedian stated, "I had no choice but to end a relationship that I truly believed was going to last forever."

Chelsea stated that Jo wasn't her person after the couple failed to come to terms with "several circumstances" despite therapy.

She said that "walking away from him" was the hardest thing she'd ever done.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with Koy about their breakup in August and how they felt the two were still in good standing.

The 51-year old revealed that they are great friends and will continue to be so. "I will always champion for her, and she'll always advocate for me -- we're going to win, everyone wins."

He noted that the comedian said their friendship was feeling "great" again. He said, "It's been this way since forever, so it's now the next chapter."

Koy said that their love was still there after the split in July. He spoke to TMZ about his feelings and how they had dealt with it.

"Everything's good. He said, "We're taking a vacation." He said, "We are great friends. We've been great friends since childhood." It's still there.

Koy admitted that he was still in touch with his ex-partners, even though he refused to reveal who initiated the breakup.
