Chicago Employee Files Police Report After Finding Severed Heads at Desk, Feels It's Retaliation

When a non-profit worker in Chicago asked his boss what he thought about the severed heads he found on his desk, his response was, "I'm not sure... There's a bunch of strange stuff going on."

Three severed heads were found on the desk of one employee. He believes he is a victim of an unsettling form of revenge. According to the Chicago Tribune, he believes that they were placed there as a result of a complaint made by him a month earlier.

All of this happened at the Anatomical Gift Association in Chicago, a non-profit organization that has been around for more than a century and manages donated bodies for medical research. Human body parts are part and parcel of the job, but they don't belong on anyone's desk.

After he complained about the way the donated bodies were handled by the organization, Dale Wheatley felt that it wasn't just him who was being mistreated.

It is not normal to have sage in the office smoldering. He told people, "I believe they were trying say that it was for warding away evil spirits." "And I was an evil spirit."

Wheatley stated that his boss dismissed his concerns over finding the heads on his desk. The heads were found in a blue tub of storage, but were not supposed be out of their designated area.

Wheatley says that when he asked his boss about them, the man told him to "get their bodies back so we can send them for cremation." Wheatley claims that this has never happened in his five years of employment, and he suspects revenge.

When Dale asked his boss why the men were in his office, he was allegedly told, "I'm not sure Dale. There's lots of strange things happening."

Wheatley filed a report with the police after he found the disturbing discovery on his desk. He believes that the discovery was the direct result of his complaint to the organization about the way they handled the donated bodies.

He claims that they were not embalmed properly or stored correctly, which led to the rotting. He filed complaints to the Cook County Medical Examiner, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation.

David Fish, Wheatley's lawyer, said that some bodies were even gnawed by rats who had ripped through the bags in which they had been stored. Fish told the outlet that "the body will go to waste if not properly cared-for."

The place is deplorable. Wheatley, in a recent press conference about his accusations, said that the place was in poor condition. If you stay in the room for longer than five minutes and start moving around, your feet will start to stick to it.

People reported that one medical school contacted the organization to complain about this purported lack care. They claimed that the donors they received were in such bad condition - i.e., bug infestations, contortions and decomposing extremities - that they couldn't be used. Wheatley says the organization has also received complaints of this nature.

William O'Connor denied to the Tribune, that donated bodies are being improperly handled. Wheatley feels that "they need more respect for the donors," according to Fish.

Fish, in a show of respect for Wheatley, called the act of leaving heads on his desk "unspeakable." He said, "Those were people's families." It's not a joke. They donated their bodies to science.
