Chris Rock Blames Will Smith's 'Selective Outrage' for Oscars Slap in Brutal Special

Chris Rock Blames Will Smith's 'Selective Outrage' for Oscars Slap in Brutal Special

In Netflix's first ever live comedy special, "Selective Outrage," Chris Rock shared his story in his own words, with plenty of jabs at Jada Pinkett Smith and WIll Smith.

People thought Chris Rock would pull his punches like Will Smith, but they were wrong. Rock made his first public comments on Netflix since the Oscars scandal, and he was unafraid to make them.

This was Netflix's first ever live comedy special. They couldn't have chosen a better comedian to launch this format. Nearly a year has passed since Will Smith took to the stage and ridiculed Chris Rock at Oscars. It has been a year where Smith has said a lot and Rock almost nothing.

This all changed on Saturday night when Chris Rock debuted "Chris Rock": Selective Outrage. As he alluded the slap that shaken the world, it became obvious that the title was about his assailant. The crowd was then asked to wait until the end ten minutes before he dived in.

He said, "You all know what ever happened to me, getting smacked on by Suge Smith," and set up the segment. Rock replied that it still hurts when people asked him if it hurt. "Summertime" ringed in my ears.

Rock said that Will had done the same thing as him and that he was a better speaker than Will. Rock said, "You know what people say? Words hurt." He has never punched anyone in the face.

"But I'm no victim, baby. Rock insists that you won't see me crying on Gayle or Oprah. Rock joked that he "took the s--- like [Manny] Pacquaio."

Will was then accused of "selective rage." "Everybody who knows me well knows that I had nothing to do with that s said Rock. Rock said, "I didn’t have any 'entanglements.

Rock, a word that means "entanglement", evoked Jada Pinkett Smith's 2020 revelation that she had a "entanglement" years ago with August Alsina. She claimed it happened while she was on a break with her husband and that they had since reconciled their love and relationship.

Will even joined Jada for an episode of "Red Table Talk" with her to discuss it all. Rock also made fun of the situation. He said, "Everyone in this industry has been cheat on." "None of us has ever been interviewed on television by someone who cheated on ours." None of us. ... Why would you do that s ---?"?

He added that he had hurt his mother more than he had hurt me. Rock claimed that he attempted to reach Will after all this, but Will refused to pick up.

He stated that everyone was calling Will a ----.". He emphasized, "Everybody." He added, "And who's the one he hit?" He knows he can beat a n ---- Me. It is some b ---- that he knows he can beat.

Rock suggested that there may have been some bad blood between Rock and Jada after Rock hosted the 2016 Oscars, with Jada calling to boycott the Oscars for the lack of diversity among its nominees -- including her husband.

"She f ------ told me [I] should quit, because Will wasn't nominated for Concussion'," Rock stated. "So I make jokes about it. Who gives a f ---?? It's that simple. It was her idea, and I completed it. "... No one was picking on her."

Rock said that Will would wear a shirtless film to sum up the physical dysfunction between them. Rock insists that he will not see Will in a movie without his shirt on. "I don't mind putting on a sweater if I'm having open-heart surgery in a movie."

The comedian summarized the situation by saying that he played Muhammed Ali and I played Pookie at 'New Jack City'.

Rock explained that Will assaulted him on stage and that he didn’t respond in kind. He said that he didn’t swing back because he was raised.

"You know what I was taught by my parents?" Rock asked his audience. Rock asked his audience, "Don't fight with White people."

Will's current situation was not the best of news for him. He had previously stated that he reached out to Rock to express his regrets, but Rock wasn't open to talking.

"I have loved Will Smith my entire life. Rock stated in his special that Will Smith has been my hero all my life. "I now watch 'Emancipation" to see him get whooped. Will portrays a slave in the film about the emancipation era.

Will has multiplely apologized for the offense. Smith won the Best Actor Oscar for King Richard. Smith did not apologize immediately.

Will resigned as an Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences member. He was banned from all their events, including Oscars, for ten year. He can still be nominated for and win awards.

Rock was the target of Will's apology. The day after the incident, he posted on Instagram, "I would love to publicly apologize for you, Chris." "I was out-of-line and I was wrong. My actions are embarrassing and they do not reflect the man I want. In a world filled with love and kindness, violence is not allowed.
