Their daughters, who are now adults, can't be stopped by a former president or first lady. Michelle Obama and Barack Obama's daughters Sasha (21), and Malia (24), were still young when they moved into the White House.
Many of us still remember the girls who were 10 and 7 years old when Barack Obama became president. The two young women, now dating, are living their lives on their own.
Michelle Obama's latest book The Light That We Carry: Overcoming Uncertain Times reveals the truth about her daughters and her famous motto.
The former first lady spoke out with Good Morning America about what it was like for her to watch her daughters get together, how they connect, and what it was like to have her children date.
Why the Obamas don't speak at breakfast
Michelle Obama isn't afraid to speak her mind. Michelle spoke candidly about her book and what it means for her family. Michelle and Barack have found creative ways to bond with each other now that their children are independent.
"Our children are gone. Michelle said that we are empty nesters. Michelle shared, "So it's usually him and me across the... table. Sunny [the dog] underneath the table. We look at each other, trying not to talk so we have something to discuss at dinner."
The Obamas are not the only ones trying to communicate with one another. Former first lady and husband Barack Obama are also learning what it is like to have daughters.

Michelle wrote that Sasha, Malia, and Malia were in a socially wild stage of their lives, "where new friends are exciting treasures which can be found almost everywhere," in her book.
Her two daughters, Michelle and Sarah, are currently trying to find a partner for their lives. Michelle, perhaps unsurprisingly, thinks that it's wonderful that her daughters can explore different types relationships.
The former first lady stated that she thinks it was wonderful. "I want them know what they want in a relationship. That requires you to try on some people.
"He's...A Concerned Black Dad, but Not Crazy"
The former first lady seems to be enjoying it, but how does her husband react?
Michelle said in an interview that Michelle noticed that "Look, [Malia] and Sasha are 24 and 21." They were both in high school. They went to prom. They have lived a full life. He's also learned to be a caring Black father. But not insane.
Although parents may be concerned about their children's relationships, the Obamas seem to be doing all they can to make their daughters happy.
