Criss Angel announces that 7-year-old son's cancer is under control in an emotional video

Criss Angel announces that 7-year-old son's cancer is under control in an emotional video

Johnny was diagnosed back in 2015 with Leukemia.

Criss Angel's child Johnny Crisstopher is now in remission after fighting cancer for over five years.

The 54-year old posted an emotional video entitled "THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT POINT I HAVE MADE" to YouTube. He announced that his seven year-old son had reached a new milestone in his battle with Leukemia.

He also shared the news via Instagram, with the caption: "TODAY OUR SON JOHNNY CRISSTOPHER FINALLY RINGS THE BELL SYMBOLIZING HIS REMISSION and THE END OF HIS TREATY!"

Johnny was first diagnosed with Leukemia in 2015. He had a short period of remission. Angel then revealed to his supporters in December 2019 that the cancer had returned.

After the nearly 14-minute long tribute video, Johnny received 1,095 chemotherapy sessions to treat his B-Cell A.L.L. Leukemia.

This video includes footage from many doctor's visits as well as the routine that the family settled into following Johnny's five-year battle with cancer. "1095" gives insight into Angel's emotional conversations with Shaunyl Benson, his wife, who shares son Xristos Yanni (2 years) and daughter Illusia Angelina (2 months).

Angel asked his followers and fans to share the video in order to raise awareness and money for other children fighting cancer.

He shared that "one child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes" Cancer doesn't discriminate. I want the opportunity to be a voice for these children and to help families going through the most difficult time in their lives. Let them know they are not alone."

He said that he would raise "hundreds upon millions of dollars" to cure pediatric cancer.

Angel spoke out about the moment he found out his son was diagnosed with cancer in a 2016 interview with People Magazine. Angel also recalled feeling helpless as he watched his son suffer side effects from chemotherapy such as hair loss and behavioral changes.

He said that Johnny is a happy, playful, loving boy but that steroid treatments had a profound affect on his mood. His son began throwing "violent" tantrums. It's difficult to see but it's not our Johnny. Angel said that it was the steroids.

"My son is supposed outlive me. Angel said that he would prefer it to be him who was sick. I want Johnny's life to be happy and long. He is a bundle full of love. He is the purest form of magic.
