Danny Masterson Victim, Social Media Blast Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis Apology Video

Danny Masterson Victim, Social Media Blast Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis Apology Video

Danny Masterson, one of the victims Danny was convicted for assaulting, lashed out at Ashton Kutcher's apology video after they sent letters of support for their That 70s Show star to the judge before the sentence.

Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kutcher and That 70s Show star Danny Masterson released a short video on Saturday to try and clarify the situation after it emerged that they had written letters of support before their That 70s Show colleague's sentence for two counts of rape.

The video is now provoking even more criticism, including from one Masteron's victims. Both women were anonymous during the trial. However, one has come forward to give a statement that was received by journalist Yashar Al.

According to a shared post on Ali's (formerly Twitter), the woman known as Jane Doe # 1 aka Jen B wrote: "This video is incredibly hurtful and insulting." I hope they will learn about radical accountability, and how important it is to educate themselves to know when to limit their privilege -- especially Ashton who claims to be a victim of sex crime. "Times Up" is all I can think of when it comes to Mila.

Kutcher and Kunis explain in their video apology that they never intended to undermine the accusers or the guilty verdict. His family asked them to give character testimony in order to try and get mercy before sentencing. Masterson received a sentence of 30 years up to life imprisonment.

Kunis stated at one point of the apology video, "We support victims." We have done so historically and will do so in future.

She said, "The letters weren't written to question the legitimacy or validity of the jury ruling." They were meant for the judge. It is not intended to undermine or traumatize the victims' testimonies.

"We wouldn't want to do that." Kutcher said, "We are sorry that this has happened."

Kunis' statement concluded with "Our hearts go out to everyone who has been the victim of sexual assault or abuse, or rape."

TMZ noted that Masterson's 1970s colleagues Kurtwood Smith, and Debrajo Rupp submitted letters in support of Masterson. However, they did not experience the same level of online backlash. Topher grace, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Vaderrama didn't submit letters.

Christina Ricci appeared to be one of the people who took aim at the apology. She never named any names and posted a harsh indictment about it on her Instagram Stories.

She wrote, "So often people we love and admire do horrible things." They might not have done those things to you and we only remember who they were, but that does not mean they did the horrible things. To discredit the abused person is a crime.

She continued, "People who we think of as 'awesome' guys can be predators or abusers." It's hard to accept, but we must. We must be able take a stance if we claim to support victims, whether they are women, children, boys, or men.

She then went on to discuss her own personal experiences on both sides before ending her message with "Believe Victims." It is not easy to speak up. It's hard to get a conviction."

Ricci's reaction was not the only one that she had to the video of apology or the letters. The following is a sample of the social media responses. Many believe that the couple regrets more their letters being made public.
