You can stop production now. You can pay your employees the same as other talk show hosts that have stood with writers", Messing wrote.

Debra Messing has made a public appeal to Drew Barrymore, asking her to stop production of her Daytime TV Show amid the Hollywood Strikes.

Barrymore apologized publicly on Instagram Friday, claiming that there was no PR machine behind her decision or for her to resume filming the Drew Barrymore Show. She told fans she wanted "to take full responsibility" of her choice.

"I'm sure there is nothing I can possibly do to make it okay for the people who are not happy." "I fully accept that," said the actress and talk-show host through tears.

Messing had only one idea, though: stop production immediately.

You can stop production now. You can pay your employees the same as other talk show hosts that have stood with writers," Messing wrote.

The Will & Grace alumnus continued, "There is a lot at stake for thousands of union workers' jobs and livelihoods (exponentially more than the people who work on our show), and also for the future of this beloved industry."

Messing continued, "I hope that you will reconsider."

Messing isn’t the only person to criticize Barrymore's decision. The WGA East blasted the actress for her decision, reminding the audience that they were picketing any shows that continued during the strike.

The @DrewBarrymoreTV Show, a WGA-covered show, is striking and plans to return without the writers. The Guild will picket shows in production that have been struck and continue to do so. The WGA has declared that any writing on "The Drew Barrymore show" is in violation. posted this on Twitter.

Barrymore was criticized by the WGA for returning to the studios and resuming her show, but SAG-AFTRA issued a statement in which they defended Barrymore's performance as an actor on their side of the strike.

They said that "The Drew Barrymore Show was produced under the Network Television Code, which is a different contract and not struck," via Variety. It is permissible and Drew's host role does not violate current strike rules.

Barrymore, according to a show spokesperson, was "completely ignorant" of this incident.

Barrymore announced last week that she would be bringing the show back on air. She stated the show was in compliance with "not discussing or promoting films and television of any kind that are struck."

Barrymore, in her video apology and written statement, said that the show had been "built for sensitive time" such as the current Hollywood climate.

She wrote, "I want be there for what writers do so beautifully: a way to unite us or help us make meaning of our human experience." Since we started airing, we have faced many challenges. "I take a bold step to begin season 4 with a new sense of humility."
