Diplo Escapes Flooded Burning Man on Foot, Makes It Cross Country in One Day for DC Concert

Diplo and Chris Rock walked six miles through the flooded Burning Man Saturday morning before Diplo took two rides to the Washington DC airport to catch a flight to his show that evening.

The annual Burning Man Festival is not going well after a monsoon rainstorm flooded Nevada's Black Rock Desert, leaving 70,000 festival-goers stranded. Chris Rock, and Diplo are among those who have managed to escape from the event.

Celebrities are always present at this popular music festival. Several have reported that they were stuck with thousands of fans. According to TMZ, a festival attendee has been reported dead. According to the outlet, Sunday's forecast calls for heavy rain, hail and strong winds gusts.

Diplo, the deejay, and Rock, the comedian, were determined to get out of the mess. They made their way to the exit on foot, first, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The caption of the video was "All Chris thought about was a f---king cold brew", as the comedian made jokes about how awesome that would be.

Diplo's show was confirmed by updates on his Instagram Stories. He wrote, "Nobody was going to make it out of Burning Man," and that no one thought they would be able to walk six miles through the mud. No one thought we would be able get back to DC for the show tonight. but god did."

He described his journey from Burning Man, to the airport, to Washington DC, on the platform. After their pickup, they met “these hippies in the next city” who offered to take them two hours to the airport.

The journey was incredible, as it involved crossing the entire country in one day, just to get to Washington, DC for a 3-hour show. That's dedication for the fans!

Rock chronicled his Burning Man experience in his IG Stories. He provided updates on the deteriorating living conditions of festival-goers. Rock revealed in a Story that has since expired, per and, that "due to the flooding, port-o'potties can't reportedly be emptied." Due to the conditions, it was not possible to fill generators or drop off supplies.
