Barrymore was thinking about the Post-It Split while filming And Just Like That.
Drew Barrymore defended a infamous breakup technique from a 2003 Sex and the City Episode while she was shooting for And Just Like That.
In the And Just Like That... Michael Patrick King, the director of The Writer's Room, revealed how Barrymore defended a particular scene in the podcast.
In the scene, Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) is dumped by her boyfriend Jack Berger (Ron Livingston), via a Post-it Note. The note read simply: "I am sorry. I'm sorry. Don't hate me."
Watch this original scene of a breakup below:
"Can I say just one thing?" King recalled Barrymore saying. Barrymore said this to King.
"Everyone looked at her, and she said that maybe Berger was right. You can break up with someone by saying, "I'm sorry. I'm not able to." Don't hate me.' "Don't drag them into weeks of indecision," he said. She said, "I want to say that as painful as this was, perhaps Berger was an Emoji."
We even went so far as to suggest that there be an emoji on Post-Its that said 'I am sorry, I cannot. "Don't hate-me" that people can send," continued King.
Barrymore is a SaTC "superfan", and she got to play her in the latest episode after Mario Cantone’s Anthony appeared with one of Hot Fellas' delivery men who was very distracting on her talk show.
King said Barrymore "was great, fun and a joy to be around." We didn't expect anything else!
And just like That streams every Thursday on MAX.
