Jenna, who gave birth in January to Val's first child, recalled that she "sprinted" to her hotel room and then lost the baby there.

Jenna Johnson and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, also known as Val, are sharing their first-hand experiences with the difficulties they faced when trying to raise their family.

The "Dancing with the Stars' pros admitted to having miscarried in 2021, just before the birth of their first child, Rome, on Thursday's episode.

They shared their heartbreaking loss and also discussed their lives as parents to their rainbow baby.

"We were in Dallas to perform a show and we were practicing. I turned to him and saw that something was happening. Johnson said, "Oh, I'm bleeding." "And instantly my heart dropped. His face was just like white.

She added, "I ran to our hotel room and lost the baby in our hotel rooms."

According to the professional dancer, "no one knew" they were pregnant at that time or had lost their baby.

She recalled that "we were so excited" and said she didn't want dance for awhile because she was "so mad." Jenna stated that dance was an escape for her during difficult times.

She began to get emotional, saying, "I was so, very sad." "I was so hurting so much."

Johnson, aged 28, and Chmerkovskiy (37), announced they were pregnant in July.

Six months later Val and Jenna welcomed their son, and shared the happy news on their Instagram accounts.

Johnson captioned Johnson's image with the words "Our world has forever changed", along with January 10, their son's birthdate.

A month later, they shared their first photo of their precious bundle of joy and revealed the baby's name.

Jenna captioned the photo with "Rome Valentin Chmerkovskiy," a caption that referred to their son. It's been four weeks since I was completely infatuated by you. Thank you for opening my heart and showing me unconditional love. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you

The couple, who have been married since 2019, opened up to "GMA" about their experiences as parents.

Jenna said that her husband was "my biggest support system during my pregnancy." "He was so tender and sweet. "So tender and sweet.

Val was kind enough to praise his wife. He said, "The rush of love, I believe, definitely flooded my more in regard to my wife." "I have never loved her more and I have never appreciated her more."
