She speculated, "I don’t know except that everyone else who could have played those parts has died."

Ellen Burstyn has revealed the reason why she believes that her schedule is more busy than ever. Her answer is darker than what you would expect.

In an interview with Christopher Meloni, her Law and Order Organized Crimecostar for Interview magazine the actress revealed she gets a "bizarre amount" of work.

The Oscar-winning actress said, "I'm more busy than I ever recall being in my entire career."

Burstyn reveals that at the time of her interview in early July, she was "juggling” two different films.

"I don't get it. What's with all the ageism in Hollywood talk? "How did I miss out on it?"

Burstyn's response to Meloni when he asked for a possible explanation was comically grim.

She speculated, "I don’t know except that everyone else who could have played those parts has died."

"I'm the last actress standing who can still play the grandmother or something."

Burstyn starred recently in Universal's The Exorcist, Believer which is a direct sequel to the 1973 horror classic. Burstyn reprises her role as MacNeil, a former actress whose daughter Regan shared a body in the past with a demon.
