Kim opened up to her reality show about the "sucks" of divorce and how she shielded their children from "all the mean things Kanye has done" as well as feeling "at peace with" their split.

Kim Kardashian "purged" her past on the day that her divorce with Kanye West became final.

In the new episode of the Kardashians on Thursday, the reality star was cleaning her storage units to mark the occasion. The storage units included a lot of Kanye’s stuff including Yeezy concepts and shoes as well as clothing and other items he collected over his career.

Kim claimed that West had 32 storage units full of his possessions when they first met and eventually reduced them to just three. She said Kanye had told her to "burn" his belongings. While she kept a lot for sentimental reasons, the new episode showed her going through all of their items accumulated over time, deciding to keep some of them and to get rid of others.

The unit also contained Kim's items, including many of her Met Gala outfits over the years, her Hazmat suit from Covid and a drawing Jennifer Lawrence did for her first contract with Elizabeth Taylor. The "unit" looked more like a warehouse than the small rental spaces that most people rent.

She said, "I'm finally getting rid of some because I have to purge, and realize that a lot these pieces aren't meaningful for me. But the ones I love, I'll keep," explaining that many of the things she is keeping will be for her future children.

Kim was "really at ease" with her divorce, a producer said. "There are so many amazing things coming out of my divorce and my marriage," she said, before explaining why "every Yeezy" was kept.

She said, "For me, this is me hanging on to the Kanye I know," in a confessional before becoming emotional. "I'm not going cry off the makeup. I'm going get it together. No, it's fine, I think I've already cried enough about this." I wouldn't take back the difficult things that happened, or the difficult times. I love my life. It's time for something new and I just want to take a moment. It's the memories. It's sad. yeah."

This is my time capsule, a collection of the best moments. "But you can't save it all," she added. "The truth is that life has changed and you can't go back to the way it was. That's when things get hard and suck. My kids will have great memories, and this will be a wonderful tribute to them."

She said that she is in a "purge phase" and that "it's good to get rid of a few things" from her past, so that new memories can be made.

Kim said that she has many of the items her father left behind. She also stated that her dad was "the best in the world". Kim added, "I would never want to deny my children this experience."

She touched on this later in the show, when she sat with Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. She opened up about her experiences shielding her ex from their children and enduring some of his more controversial moments.

The kids don't know what to do after all the bad things he has done. They have no idea. They think that their dad is amazing and wonderful. He's great with them. Why would I take it away from him just because I am angry?" She said. "I have many things to be angry about, but they do not know it."

She said that she has a stocking in her house for West, and expressed concern that some fans might think she agrees with "some of his statements." Kylie told Kendall to not worry, telling her that she didn't have to explain anything about what she was doing for the kids.

Kendall confessed, "I have no idea how Kim manages everything with her former husband." "It is impressive, it is amazing, and I give her so many props. I could never. "I'd spiral out of control."

Kim said that she does not want to view their time together in a negative light, but instead wants to focus on the lessons she can take from it or how she can become "a better individual" as a result. She added that after their breakup, she "definitely jumped in another relationship so quickly" - referring to Pete Davidson - and that she had learned not to "run from things" moving forward.

She promised to "feel and deal with the situation, then heal."

Kim and Kanye married in May 2014. She filed for divorce from him in February 2021. North, Saint Chicago, and Psalm are the four children they share together.

The Kardashians' new episodes will be available on Hulu this Thursday.
