The car in which they were riding was stolen from a pizza place. However, both children were taken. Only one of them has been found.
Kason Thomass' family and Columbus police are asking for Nalah Jackson, a suspected kidnapper to return Kason. Jackson is alleged to have stolen a car that both Kyair and the boy were in Monday night.
Although Kyair was discovered near Dayton's airport on Tuesday morning there have not been any sightings of Kason. The child is still under a statewide Amber Alert. Police also issued BOLO alerts for five adjoining states to Ohio in an effort to locate the child, suspect and vehicle.
The car was taken when the mother of the twins ran into a pizza shop to pick-up a DoorDash order. Employees claim that Nalah Jackson, 24, fled the restaurant as her mother walked in. She was charged with two felony counts for kidnapping. However, neither the black Honda Accord four-door she allegedly stole nor the Honda Accord she stole were ever found. The vehicle has no license plate and was purchased just recently.
The surveillance images so far show Jackson driving up to a gas station with the stolen vehicle. She reportedly asked for money ( below). These photos were taken just before Kyair was dropped off at the airport. Jackson was last seen at the airport. Police said that she asked people to use their phones.
"Kasan is still missing, and our #1 priority it to bring Kasan home safely," Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant stated during a Wednesday press conference.
Bryant sent Jackson a message at an earlier conference. "Nalah, Jackson, I beg you, please return Kason Tom," she stated, "We are asking you to return Kason." We can even pick him out."
Wednesday saw Wilhelmina Burnett, mother of the child, continue to search for Jackson and her son near the gas station. She also sent her message via WBNS to the alleged kidnapper.
"We won't call police. They will find you if they do. She said, "I don't care what the police think. Just bring my baby home."
According to reports, family members met Wednesday night for a vigil. LaFonda Thomass, the grandmother of the twins, said that she saw a child longing for her mother and asked for help.
LaShanna Potts, the First Assistant Chief of Police, spoke at the vigil. She stated that "We are committed in finding baby Kason." We want Nalah do the right thing. We know that she can.
Anybody with information is asked to dial 911 or Columbus Division of Police Special Victims Bureau (614) 645-4713.
