Is there anything more 90s than an instructional video about Windows 95 featuring friends sensations Jennifer Aniston & Matthew Perry? We didn't believe so. Recently, we found that exact video and couldn't believe our eyes.

Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry Visit Microsoft Headquarters

Microsoft used the success of the sitcom Friends to cast Jennifer Aniston as a video guide for Windows 95 in the mid-90s. Friends was receiving rave reviews in its first season. People wanted to know when Ross would marry Rachel, so hairdressers across the country started asking for "The Rachel".

It was smart for the company that these familiar faces were available to promote their product. We have to admit that Perry and Aniston are not performing well. The software's revolutionary capabilities were described in a voiceover. It even suggested that you could make your own sitcom using its video editing feature. What was the rest of this video's content? The world's first cyber-sitting series, of course.

The video was then sent to Perry and Aniston, who were supposed be visiting Bill Gates’ office. Before they could be stunned by the CEO, Chip, a low-ranking Microsoft employee, began to tell them about the product.

Microsoft Highlights the Power of Email

The video continues with Perry and Aniston playing warped versions their Friendscharacters. Perry laughs with his funny quips, while Aniston refuses to accept the advances of the mailroom man. This is clearly intended to keep the viewer interested as Chip, the real star of Windows 95, shows off what Windows 95 can do.

Perry and Aniston are instructed by Perry how to connect the computer to dial-up. He then gives them an overview about the software. Perry sends a friend an email inviting him to join him in a Gates' office at the end of the riveting video. Chip then shows Aniston photos of cats to wrap up the proceedings.

This video proves that star power alone is not enough to carry a clip. The video is remarkable and worth looking back on, despite the cringe-inducing jokes. It is just a reminder of how technology has advanced. Friends may be timeless.
