Gal Gadot Addresses THAT Imagine Video Again

Gal Gadot Addresses THAT Imagine Video Again

"Sometimes it's hard to hit the bull's eye, right?"

Gal Gadot commented recently on the "Imagine" video that she made with celebrity friends at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instyle Magazine's feature article, "Wonder Woman," revealed that the cover was a terrible idea.

The video featured cameos by celebrities like Kristen Wiig and Jamie Dornan, James Marsden. Sarah Silverman, Eddie Benjamin. Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman. Zoe Kravitz. Sia, Lynda Carpenter, Amy Adams. Leslie Odom Jr., Pedro Pascal. Dawn O'Porter. Will Ferrell. Mark Ruffalo. Norah Jones. Ashley Benson, Kaia Geber, Cara Delevingne. Annie Mumolo. Maya Rudolph.

Despite their best efforts the cover was quickly branded tone deaf on social media.

It's hilarious, especially when you consider the whole "Imagine" controversy. Kristen Wiig was calling me and I was like, "Listen, I want this thing." Before it arrived in the U.S., the pandemic had already been in Europe and Israel. Gadot admitted that he was seeing where everything was heading.

She added, "But [the clip] was premature." It was not the right time, and it wasn’t the right thing. It was not in good taste. It was pure intention, but sometimes it's not easy to hit the bull's eye. It felt like I wanted the air out of it so that [event] was a wonderful opportunity to do that."

Gadot reacted in an interview with Vanity Fair to the severe backlash that she received for the video in October 2020.

She didn't apologize for her viral mistake at the time but she did explain her motives behind the cover of "Imagine".

She explained to the publication that sometimes, "sometimes, you know, it's not always the right kind of good deed." "I had only good intentions, it came from the best place and I wanted to spread light and love around the world.

She also said that Wiig helped her to recruit more stars for the video.

She is loved by everyone and brought many people to the game. She admitted that she started it.
