Golden Globe Nominations Announced After HFPA Controversy -- See Full Noms and Snubs!

The pack was led by "The Banshees of Inisherin", and "Abbott Elementary".

After controversy over the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, NBC has decided that the Golden Globe Awards will not be televised next year.

The nominations for the 2023 ceremony were announced on Monday. They will air live on television and be hosted again by JerrodCarmichael.

"The Banshees of Inisherin", the film nominee, won eight nominations, including Best Motion Picture, and acting nominations for Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and was named the top nominee. On the TV side, Abbott Elementary won five nominations, including Best Comedy Series.

Brendan Fraser was nominated to play "The Whale" despite him stating that he wouldn't attend the ceremony if it honored him. Former HFPA president Philip Berk was previously accused of sexual assault. He claimed Berk groped him at a luncheon and then assaulted him. This incident is the reason why he left Hollywood. Berk admitted previously to having grabbed Fraser's butt but claimed that it was in jest.

There were some notable snubs and absences from the noms. Michelle Yeoh (Causeway), Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis were all nominated to "Everything Everywhere At Once", but Stephanie Hsu was not included. MIA: Jennifer Lawrence, Tom Hanks and Elvis were nominated for "Causeway", Tom Cruise for Top Gun: Maverick, Will Smith for Emancipation. Cruise returned his three Golden Globe trophies to the HFPA in 2021 in protest.

"Nope" by Jordan Peele was also criticized for not receiving any love, even though many considered it to be one of the top movies of the year. It featured a stellar performance by Keke Palmer. The all-male nominees for Best Director in an year when women directors such as Gina Prince-Bythewood ("The Woman King") have also been nominated for awards has already drawn criticism.

Below is a complete list of all the nominations. The program airs on Tuesday, January 10, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
