Are you ready to return to Rydell
"Witness to the rise of the original girl band."
This is what the trailer for the prequel TV series "Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies" promises. It will be shown ahead of the Paramount+ premiere later in the spring.
The streamer states that the musical series was recorded in 1954, four years prior to the events of the original film.
The official synopsis reads, "Before T-Birds became the coolest school kids, four outcasts dare have fun on their terms, sparking a moral panic which will change Rydell High forever,"
The footage shows some huge musical numbers, including one that appears to be in an auto shop. This looks like it could be a precursor for "Greased Lightnin".
Marisa Davila stars as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells plays Olivia, Ari Notartomaso portrays Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara portrays Nancy, Shanel Bailey plays Hazel, Madison Thompson is Susan, Johnathan Nieves portrays Richie, Jason Schmidt portrays Buddy, Maxwell Whittington Cooper portrays Wally, and Jackie Hoffman is Asst. Principal McGee.
The first 10-episode season of "Grease" debuts April 6. New episodes are added every Thursday.
