The Goop founder stated, "I am very proud of the fact that we made some divorces easier and happier."

Gwyneth paltrow does not regret popularizing the "conscious uncoupling."

In 2014, Goop's 50-year old founder and her former husband Chris Martin decided to end their marriage after 10 years. They finalized the divorce in 2016. The former couple, who have a daughter Apple, 18 and a son Moses, 16, made headlines at the time for using the phrase "conscious uncoupling," in their announcement of their separation.

Paltrow admitted that she was "proud", when asked by a fan how she felt after "being credited with coining the phrase" during a Q&A on Instagram at the weekend.

She replied, "I am certain that I did not invent the phrase."

She continued: "I feel proud that despite taking a lot of flak for it all those years ago, we were able, maybe, to make some divorces easier, happier."

The "Iron Man' star continued, "It's pretty exciting when people approach me in the street and thank me for introducing this concept, because I have become friends with my former." I'm happy to have played a part in this cultural shift.

Paltrow announced to Martin on her Goop website in March 2014 that they had decided to separate amicably.

We have decided to split up with a heavy heart. "We have worked hard for over a month, sometimes together and sometimes apart, to see what was possible between us. We have come to the decision that, while we love eachother very much, we will remain separated," the couple said at the moment.

The couple explained that "conscious uncoupling is actually something more powerful and positive" when "the whole concept of marriage or divorce is reexamined."

They continued, "By choosing your uncoupling in an intentional way, regardless what is happening with your partner, you will see that even though it appears as if everything is falling apart, it actually comes back together."

Paltrow remarried in 2018, tying the nuptials with Brad Falchuk. Martin has been linked with Dakota Johnson since 2017.
