Is she or not she? Since Halle Berry posted a joyous and cryptic Instagram post on New Year's Day, this is the question her fans and followers have been asking.

TooFab is cautiously skeptical as it seems like Berry couldn't resist this joke setup. However, many of Berry's famous friends and followers took the first slide of her post as it was, and offered what might be an extreme premature congratulations.

She posted a photo of her and Van Hunt standing facing each other in an archway that overlooks a breathtaking tropical view. The caption to the entire post was "well... IT'S OFFICIAL!"

If you turn the slide over, you'll see that she wrote on the image of Hunt and her cozied up -- Hunt with a beautiful flower crown on her head -- the caption "It's 2222!" Berry is seen as stepping outside of expectations in the first caption. We then flip the script to reveal a New Year’s post with the second.

Berry's relationship status has been verified by us, so we have reached out to Berry's reps to offer our congratulations.

"Congratulations to you both!" Beautiful!!" Dwayne Johnson wrote, and Taraji P. Henson added, "Congratulations!" We are so happy for you. Tia Mowry posted a series heart emojis as a way to express her excitement. Tamera, however, used smiling emojis that had heart eyes.

Ava DuVernay wrote: "Blessings Queen!" Wonderfulllll!!! !," with Octavia Spencer jumping in to off her "Congratulations!!!!!" Octavia Spencer also jumped in to celebrate her "Congratulations!!!!!" "CONGRATS GUYS!! Kim Fields added, "CONGRATS GUYS!" Julie Benz wrote, "Congrats !!!!!." ."

Naomi Campbell believed the message was true, and commented, "Congratulations @halleberry blessings for your beautiful Union." Thandiwe Newton was also enamored by what she believed to be an engagement and added, "Arggggghhhhhh OMG so happy for you "tears of joy"

Some fans did however seem to take the joke on Berry and Hunt and commented with such comments as "You got us good till I swiped right" and "Haha! Good one (remember, swipe through to see both photos)" and even "I don't see anyone scrolled - LOL".

The truth has to be revealed at some point. If it turns out to be a joke, it will be interesting to see how the fooled celebs react to it.

Maybe she'll be embarrassed that so many people believe she's engaged that they'll just go ahead and get married... for the fans.
