The stars of Harry Potter , including Michael Gambon who played Albus Dumbledore for six blockbuster movies, are mourning Michael Gambon's death.

According to TMZ, Gambon’s publicist confirmed the Irish-British star's death on Thursday at the age 82, following a bout of pneumonia. According to the rep, he died surrounded by wife Anne and son Fergus in a hospital.

After the sad news that Gambon passed away, many of his Harry Pottercostars as well as many of his fans took to social media in order to pay tribute.

Official Harry Potter social media accounts released a statement which read: "We're incredibly saddened by the news of Sir Michael Gambon's passing." His humour and kindness brought Harry Potter fans all over the globe immense joy. "We will always hold his memory in the hearts of Harry Potter fans around the world."

James Phelps, who played Fred Weasely (in the Harry Potter movies), honored Gambon via social media. He recalled a fond memory of working with Gambon in the sixth installment of fantasy franchise: Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.

He wrote, "While shooting HP6, I worked in the AD department the entire shoot (apart for the days I acted)," he said in a blog post that he shared with his followers on Instagram and X. "And because of that, I spent many hours on the set with Michael." He was very funny, and always willing to share his knowledge.

"We were filming Dumbledore’s final clock-tower scene one day. It was a very intense scene. Michael asked me what I had been doing that weekend in between the set-ups. "As it turned out, my brother and me were both reading Peter and the Wolf at the Manchester Halle Orchestra."

James said Gambon had asked him if he was carrying the script. He replied that he was. Gambon then said "I have done that. Let's go over it. If you want, I can provide some notes."

James continued, "We spent what was supposed to be his free time going over my weekend gig." It's a memory that I have always considered one of my highlights from my HP days.

The actor captioned the post: "I am very sorry to learn of Michael Gambon's passing." On and off camera, Michael Gambon was a legend. "Just a small memory of Michael."

Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy, also paid tribute to Gambon. He wrote, "Magnificent Michael Gambon is dead." Michael Gambon taught me what acting was all about in The Singing Detective. He was complex, vulnerable, and human. "The greatest thrill was being in the Potter movies because he knew me by name and shared with me his filthy, fearless sense of humor."

Fiona Shaw, who played Petunia in the Harry Potter films, spoke to BBC Radio 4’s The World at One about Gambon's passing.

She told Daily Mail, "I'll always think of him as an amazing trickster. He was brilliant and magnificent. But with text, there wasn't anyone like him. He could do anything." "He had a varied career and never judged his work, he simply played."

After the death of Richard Harris who portrayed Dumbledore, Gambon, who played Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, joined the Harry Potter franchise for the third film, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban.

Jared Harris, the son of Harris, wrote about Gambon in X: "Hilarious!" A brilliant actor. He is a brilliant actor. "He took over Dumbledore as my father's favorite actor, just as Brando had done for my father."

Not only stars from Harry Potter honored Gambon via social media. Many of Gambon's fellow celebrities and former costars also paid heartfelt tributes on social media.
