One zing can rule them all

What do you know about the origins of the orcs? Once they were elves, and then they were taken by dark powers, tortured, and mutilated. It is a terrible and ruinous form of life.

According to Elijah Wood Harvey Weinstein is one of them.

Star of "Lord of the Rings", Miramax, has revealed that Peter Jackson's evil orcs were specifically created to look like the disgraced producer. Miramax.

Dax Shepard, 40, stated that Weinstein made it difficult for Peter Jackson to complete the trilogy.

According to the story, Miramax had purchased the rights to JRRTolkien's masterpiece around the mid-90s and invested a few millions into it. But Jackson demanded permission to sell it to another company when it became apparent that the films would not be made as Jackson and partner Fran Walsh had envisioned.

Miramax stated that they would only give it back to them in turnaround. But, there are two things that must happen. First, you have to get it up and running this weekend. Two: The person who agrees must agree to do all three simultaneously, Shepard said, and Wood agreed.

Wood said, "The window of opportunity was absurd." They shopped it all around town. Peter created a pitch video that was quite impressive and taken to many places.

"Most people balked at the idea of making more than one movie. "The popular opinion was that you should see how [the first film] does before investing the rest of your money.

New Line Cinema was ultimately the one to take the "insane and incredible risk" of filming all three simultaneously. Wood said that Miramax believed there was no hope in hell.

Naturally, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy would go on to be one of the most popular film franchises of all-time. The film's finale, "The Return of the Ring", won 11 Oscars. This tied the record with "Titanic," and "Ben-Hur", including Best Picture.

It won the Oscar for Best Make-up... which is an interesting fact because Frodo Baggins said that one orc was a nod to the man who would have stopped the project.

"It's funny that this was recently discussed because Dom [Monaghan who played Merry] as well as Bill [Boyd who played Pippin] have a podcast called The Friendship Onion. They were speaking to Sean Astin (who played Samwise) about their first memories of New Zealand.

"He had seen these masks of orcs. One of the orc masks was made to look like Harvey Weinstein, which I still remember vividly.

Wood didn't reveal whichorc it was, but there seems to be consensus online that it was Gothmog, the deformed lieutenant. Gothmog, it turns out, is killed in battle after losing to the only woman on field.
