Imagine yourself being a Betty White fan and discovering that the necklace she made for you nearly three decades back is being sold with her estate. Melyssa Cheng Goya, Alewa Heights (Hawaii), couldn't be happier.

Cheng Goya's History with White

Cheng Goya met White for the first time in 1991, when she was just 17 years old at a book signing. White's became her favorite sitcom in the mid-80s, when it was highly rated and viewed by many.

They kept in touch over the years and shared many milestones. Cheng Goya visited White at several productions. She eventually became Vice President for the Golden Girls fan club. White sent flowers to Cheng Goya on her wedding day, as she was unable to attend. She also celebrated the birth of her daughters by giving her a gift of baby clothes and meeting the rest of the family in 2012.

Cheng Goya said HawaiiNewsNow that she made jewelry from Fimo clay beads, and decided it would be fun for her to receive a bracelet. It was a gift I made for her, and she loved it. She sent me a note back, and then, a few years later I thought, "Maybe she needs a necklace."

They remained in touch until White's passing.

White's Estate Auction

Julien's Auctions is offering fans the chance to purchase sentimental items this weekend in partnership with the estate of the comedian. From September 23rd through the 25th, a special collection of over 1,500 White's personal belongings will be available for purchase.

Many celebrities are gifted gifts by fans, but imagine Cheng Goya's delight when she discovered the jewelry she made for White decades ago among the stars' prized possessions up for auction.

Cheng Goya expressed the joy she felt when she saw her items on the website. "When I got to the jewelry section, there was some jewelry that I hadn't seen in a while and I knew it was mine. This is what I sent her many years ago! It is amazing! It is amazing that this would be included in her collection!

Cheng Goya's jewellery starts at $300

The Hollywood icon's scripts, awards, wardrobe, memorabilia, and furniture from her iconic TV shows and films are some of the other items that will be up for auction.
