When Lisa Marie Presley passed away earlier this month, her will left everything--including partial control of Elvis Presley's estate--to her daughters. Now, Priscilla Presley, her mother is challenging the will and fighting to amend the document she claims invalid.
Joel Weinshanker is the managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises. He recently spoke out to Sirius XM's Elvis Radio, saying that Lisa Marie was "quite sure" that her children would carry on Elvis' legacy.
Weinshanker stated that they had discussed the matter many times before she died. She was referring to Benjamin Keough and Riley Keough, the children of ex David Keough. "There was no question in her mind that they'd be the stewards. They would view it exactly the same way as she did. It was Riley who sat in the seat when Ben died."

Lisa Marie Presley's death is a stark reminder of the leading cause of female mortality in the U.S.
Benjamin committed suicide in 2020. Riley, Harper, and Finley Lockwood were left as co-trustees for Lisa Marie's Trust. This trust includes the famed Graceland property, and 15% ownership over Elvis' estate.
Why Priscilla is Contesting the Will of Her Daughter
Weinshanker insists that Lisa Marie wants her children to manage her trust. Priscilla, however, isn't so sure. Priscilla and Barry Siegel (her former business manager) were co-trustees in the will.
In 2016, a new amendment was added to her will that made her children cotrustees in Lisa Marie's Trust. Priscilla contests this amendment, claiming that she did not know of the change. This would render the 2016 amendment null and void, since Priscilla didn't receive the amendment "as required under the express terms" of the Trust.
Priscilla also claims that there are "many questions surrounding the authenticity validity" of the amended. These include the fact that Lisa Marie's signature is inconsistent with her usual signature and that her name was misspelled.
Although it is not clear if Priscilla will petition to change the outcome Lisa Marie's trust or Elvis' estate, it is evident that Lisa Marie wanted her children carry on her fathers legacy, despite her mother’s claims.
