The actor tells the story behind his new body, which has also provoked some Marvel talk.

Kit Connor, the star of "Heartstopper", shocked Netflix viewers by showing off a body transformation in photos and video taken at the gym with Nathaniel Massiah, a trainer and fitness YouTuber.

The 19-year old actor shared his reasons for getting so fit in a video that he recorded during one of their workouts.

He said, "The reason that I got into the gym wasn't so obvious was because of my deep motivation." "When I was cast in Heartstopper, the character I am based on is 6' 2", very large. I was much shorter than I am now and I was also skinnier.

Connor plays Nick in the TV series based upon Alice Oseman’s comics. The story revolves around two high-school boys who fall in love. Nick is an athlete and jock from the jump.

"When it was announced, there were people on the internet saying, 'He is a bit too thin to play him'," Connor said. "I saw it and was like, ‘S ---.'. "So I started to eat a lot and thought, "S---."

He claimed that he began doing push-ups to define his chest, but that this was only the beginning. He said, "The boobies were growing quite large," and added that he started "properly hitting gym."

The gym photos went viral on Twitter and so did fan casting about Connor's possible role in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans have been vocal in their desire to see him play the role of Hulking in the Young Avengers. He's a superhero and Wiccan's boyfriend in comics.

Connor's "Heartstopper", costar, and on-screen love interest Joe Locke have been cast in "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," where many assume he will play Wiccan. This character, from the Young Avengers, was also a child star on "WandaVision", and is one Wanda Maximoff's (aka Vision's twins) children.
