"Hoarding: Buried Alive" Fans Want More Information On Seymour Retired Surgeon, Living In Roach Infested Homes

Seymour wears a gray shirt during his appearance on Hoarders: Buried Alive

TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive has been a popular reality show. The show gives viewers a glimpse into people's lives and minds as it explores the reasons for hoarding. A retired surgeon, who is only Seymour was introduced, gained a lot of sympathy from his desperate circumstances, which included a severe roach infestation that accompanied him everywhere he went.

Many of the people on the show have trouble letting go of items, even if they are broken or no longer needed. Some hoarders even keep their garbage. Some people are addicted to shopping, bringing in more items into their homes. This can lead to clutter and make it difficult for them to move around.

Fans Want to Know More About Seymour

While many of the characters on the show are memorable, there was one episode that captivated nearly everyone who saw it. Seymour, an old orthopedic surgeon, was the star of a Season 8 episode that aired in 2014.

He hoarded and a large cockroach infestation developed in his home. They would follow him wherever he went. His daughter-in law said that he visited her house and found the roaches infested.

Seymour began hoarding over a decade ago after a difficult divorce. Seymour's children and his spouses tried many times over the years to stop him hoarding. But, nothing made any difference. Seymour's home was cleaned out by a pest control company, who did their best to eliminate the roaches.

Pest Control: "The Absolute Worst"

Stephen Scian, who was hired by Pest Control Technology to address the problem, said that it was "the absolute worst" he had ever seen. Scian has over 15 years experience in pest control. I can only estimate that there were hundreds of thousands of them in a 10-foot-by-10-foot area. I could see 100 to 200 roaches every time I lifted a small container or can, and this house had many other items.

Seymour's story was a popular topic. However, there isn't much information. TLC did provide an update at the conclusion of Seymour's episode. It stated that he had moved into a retirement community and was building a relationship in a clean environment with his granddaughter. But that was back in 2014. However, that was in 2014.

Viewers Keep Being Supportive

A YouTube clip of his episode featured comments from people sharing their thoughts and well wishes for Seymour. One commenter wrote: "He seems like such an nice man who just has a hard time dealing with mental health."

Another said, "He has dedicated his life to saving others." It is sad to see how little support medical personnel get. He saved people. We can help our doctors and nurses when they are gone. They are truly HEROES.
