Kotb has been absent for more than a week from the NBC morning program.

TODAY has provided an update on Hoda Kotb’s prolonged absence.

Craig Melvin, Kotb's TODAY anchor, shared Wednesday's broadcast that Kotb was absent because of a "family matter."

Melvin stated, "We can tell that Hoda is dealing with a family matter of health," before noting Savannah Guthrie’s absence. "We look forward seeing Savannah [Guthrie] and Hoda back on the desk."

Kotb (58) has not appeared on the broadcast live since February 17. She was however seen in a pre-taped segment which aired on President's Day, February 20. Her podcast's most recent episode, "Making Space," aired on February 20. Episodes of the TODAY channel podcast usually drop every other week.

Kotb, who has two daughters, Hope, 3 and Haley, 5 with Joel Schiffman, has not spoken publicly about her absence. She has been posting inspiring and touching quotes to her Instagram.

Two days ago, the TV personality shared a photo of a small canvas with the caption: "Choose Hope."

TODAY'S TALKING about Kotb's absence is just one day after Savannah Guthrie, her co-anchor on NBC's morning show, quit the air after she was positive for Covid-19.

Sheinelle Jones, who was reporting with Carson Daly and Al Roker during TODAY's 8 AM hour, shared the news live on-air.

Jones said, "By and by, it's been an interesting day for us." "Savannah left early because she was not feeling well, so she did a Covid test. It was positive.

She added, "So, ofcourse, as soon as she found out, she ran home to rest up." Savannah, we love and wish you a speedy recovery.
