Hollywood mourns the death of legendary game-show host Bob Barker.
TMZ announced that Barker died on Saturday morning, at the age 99. According to his representative, Barker passed away from natural causes.
His most notable role was as the host of The price is right on CBS, which he hosted from its inception until 2007.
After the news that Barker had passed, celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to the television legend and animal activist.
On X (formerly Twitter), the comedian Drew Carey who replaced Barker as host of The Price Is Right after Barker retired, paid tribute Barker.
"Very sad for the Price Is Right Family and animal lovers around the world. It hasn't happened that I haven't thought of Bob Barker on set and thanked him. I will always carry his memory with me. He wrote: "#RIPBobBarker. We love you." Then he shared a picture of him and Barker together on the set of a game show.
Adam Sandler also shared a heartfelt post on X, where he paid tribute to Barker. Barker was a famous cameoist in Sandler’s 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore.
"The man. The man. The best. It was a pleasure to be around such a funny and sweet guy. I loved talking to him. I loved laughing with him. Sandler wrote, "Loved him kick the crap out me," alongside throwback pictures of Sandler and Barker. "He will be greatly missed by all I know!" Heartbreaking day. Bob and his family will always be in our hearts! "Thanks for everything you did!"
The actress Julie Bowen, who starred in Happy Gilmore, posted a picture of Barker with the cast. This included herself and Sandler.
"I'll never forget Adam convincing Bob Barker that the famous line, "the price is wrong, bi*ch!" was the right one. She captioned a post on Instagram. "Bob was polite and kind, and had refused to say the iconic line. But he got caught up in the hilarious battle scene between him, and Happy. He just...said" it. It's my favorite memory of filming ever.
Please remember to neuter and spay your pets in honor of Bob. "RIP Bob," she continued.
In the meantime, CBS also released a statement which read: Today we lost a loved member of the CBS Family with the death of Bob Barker. Bob Barker, who hosted THE PRICE IS RITE for 35 years, made many people's wishes come true. He also made everyone feel like winners when he called them to "come down." Bob's legendary broadcasting career will also be remembered for his dedication to animal rights. "Daytime television has lost its most iconic star."
