In 2022, bomber jackets and high-low dresses have returned to fashion. It's evident that Gen Xers are enjoying a revival of '80s- and '90s fashion.
According to New York Fashion Week (NYFW), the bubble skirt is the newest recycled trend.
In 1987, Princess Diana wore a pair with a white double-breasted jacket and a bubble dress. This style survived for a while, as one of our editors wore it to her 1991 sorority formal. It was strapless, pink, and black, and bubbled at the bottom.

Designers Ulla Johnson and Khaite presented modern versions of the bubble-skirt for their spring and summer 2023 collections. These new versions are a little more wearable than the larger models of the early 1990s.
For your next event, a bubble-skirt dress is a great choice, especially in bright red. It's never too soon to start planning holiday parties. This style allows for freedom of movement from the waist down. Undergarments and other clothing are not an issue.
The casual khaki style can be worn with sneakers or boots or dressed up with heels and a blazer (a la Lady Diana), and taken to work or on a date.
Cynthia Rowley - Shop Now
Although this one is more expensive, Cynthia Rowley makes beautiful, high-quality clothes that will last a lifetime. This one can be worn with a sweater and boots to create a winter white look. It also comes in black and purple.
This is the most versatile of all the t-shirts. For a casual, but not boring look, you can pair this t-shirt with slides or sneakers and slip on some platforms. Or wear it with a tank and sparkly shoes and you are ready to go for the next dinner party.
This look might not suit everyone. If your goal is to blend in, it won't be the right item for you. Bubble skirts and dresses are a great way to be bold with your style.
