How a Holiday Text Chain Between Sister Wives Kids 'Spiraled' Into Nasty Family Feud

Janelle says, "I'm not sure if we'll ever recover from it," before Kody’s son Paedon says, "I'm not sure [polygamy] will work in my family any more."

The latest episode of sister wives shows that what was supposed to be a casual group chat about the holidays has "spiraled". This may have caused a rift beyond repair.

Sunday's premiere was around 2022 holidays as Kody's splintered around him. The reality TV star has 18 children between four women - Robyn Brown, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown - but they have drifted apart in recent years after accusations that he favours his family more with Robyn.

Christine met up with Paedon after Thanksgiving, which Kody, Robyn and Meri celebrated with their children while Christine and Janelle were with their own. They discussed some of the "issues" that Kody has with the rest of the family.

"My mom's children and Janelle’s kids have picked a side." In a confessional Paedon stated that to the best of his knowledge, they chose their mom, making it clear that they are supporting her after she permanently split with Kody. Janelle and Kody had also been separated at the time of filming but there were no final decisions made about their future.

Paedon went on to say that Logan, Kody and Janelle’s son, had started a group message for the siblings a few months prior about a gift exchange between the children. Paedon said Robyn was trying to set up a video call with the parents to discuss details.

She said that the children were "pushbacking" her to have the video chat. "I asked myself, 'Why do I try here?' "I'm out. This is a futile effort," she said, while the other moms pointed out that it's difficult to get a group of so many people on Zoom simultaneously.

Christine claimed that Robyn had said that her children "don't remember who their siblings were" at one point. She then added that the situation "got so out of hand that they didn’t want to hang around and all these wounded feelings from when Robyn came into the family first came out, and it's just like, Oh my gosh."

Robyn said, "It became a big fight between my children and the rest of the kids." Christine claimed that Gwendlyn had "tried to make it lighter," but that also didn't work -- she added, "then it went badly."

It just spiraled out of control and was over. Janelle added, "I don't think we will ever recover from some of the things said and expressed." The specifics of what was said have not been revealed.

Robyn, in tears, said that it was "a terrible day" and another example of "them not wanting to be our family." She added that she's been feeling that way "since the beginning," and that her children, after the incident, "didn't feel comfortable anymore with the gift exchange." It's a sham!

Christine said, "I think Robyn has jumped to conclusions a little too quickly," before Paedon brought up a bigger issue. He said, "When we went public for the first time, it was to prove that polygamy worked." Then he added, "I do not think it works anymore in my family."

Paedon continued speaking with Christine and said that Kody was not "a distant dad" as he knew exactly where he lived or how to contact him. He didn't always need his father, but he did have "so many mothers, so many brothers and so many other support systems" who were always there to help him. This, he said "helped an awful lot."

It's always been his responsibility to build a good relationship between him and his children. Christine confessed in a confessional that she felt like the family was dividing again. "I believe we are looking at a permanent split."

"I left Kody, because I saw he had favorites." "When you have a spouse that is a favorite, other children are going to see that and they're going to have a difficult time with that," added she. It doesn't mean that they won't accept her. But they didn't accept as much as Kody, I guess.

Kody had little to say, but he was seen adoring his daughter Aurora - the eldest of Robyn's children - as he brought her to have her ears pierced. He claimed he set a family rule that no woman could get their ears pierced until the age of 18, but then admitted he didn't know if any of his daughters had followed this rule. Aurora was his first and only daughter to have it done.

In a confessional, he said: "I have a great appreciation of how Aurora has respected my authority in our family as father and leader." "I appreciate her respect at that level."
