Kal Penn said, "I was like: 'Be on Your Best Behavior, You Now Have a Scene with Santa Claus.'"
Tim Allen hasn't worn his Santa suit since 1996, but holiday magic was back the second he donned it for "The Santa Clauses," a brand new Disney+ series.
Santa decides to retire from the North Pole and find a successor. He then returns to his everyday life and his usual appearance with his family. He soon realizes he made a mistake, and Christmas' future is in jeopardy.
Allen is joined by Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Claus and David Krumholtz, as Bernard the Elf and Charlie. Newcomers Austin Kane (Tim's real-life son) and Elizabeth Allen-Dick (Tim’s daughter) join the Clauses as their youngest children. Kal Penn and Rupali are also on board, and find themselves caught up in Christmas chaos.
Mitchell said that Allen was dressed up again for the first time in 16 years. Tim is my Santa Claus. She explained that she is completely thrilled every time she sees him. "I feel like a little person, I'm like [Squeals] Hi! Tim is Santa Claus, the best thing.
"The first time that I saw him was when he was wearing a full-suit walking down the stairs. I was in the trailer area and was walking towards the stirs. Redd exclaimed, Penn echoing his words.
"That was basically my reaction. He explained that we had Zoom's cast run-through. I chatted with them all, but then met Tim in person in the costume, and instantly reverted to being a child." "I was like, "Be on your best behavior, Santa Claus now has a scene with you," and that's exactly what it is.
Kane said, "It's surreal to see him, it's amazing," and was also amazed at the practical effects of the North Pole set. Mitchell said, "It's beautiful, practical, and it's magic."
Mitchell said that Mitchell had nerves going into her first day back but that they quickly dissipated.
She laughed and said, "The moment I walked onto the set, I thought, "Okay, I know exactly how to do it." "Having been a part of a character for 22+ years, I loved her. It was such a pleasure to be able to walk back in her shoes. It was a pleasure to be with her.
Kane was, however, just as excited to be joining the franchise he grew-up watching.
"I have been watching these films for as long as my memory can recall, these films, every year like clockwork. Every holiday season, we watch these films. TooFab explained that it is not a dream but a burden. "I want my children to have the same joy that I had watching these films. I want to be successful." It's great fun. Everyone is exactly as I expected. It's wonderful to feel the Christmas spirit for many months.
Penn joined the franchise for a different reason. He had previously been in raunchier holiday fare such as "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas."
It feels amazing. It feels great. He explained. "Where Harold & Kumar Christmas movies I enjoyed, my niece and nephew won't watch. They're not going to watch them for a long time, but they're able to watch the Santa Clauses with me, so it's exciting to be part in a more traditional Christmas project."
Although the series only has six episodes, Mitchell and Kane stated that they would love to return for another season or new movies in the future.
Mitchell said, "I know I should probably be coy about it and say, Sure,' but yeah. "100%. "100%.
The videos below will show you what stars would do if they visited the North Pole. On November 16, "The Santa Clauses," will premiere with two episodes on Disney+
