The famously cranky actor said that his Music and Lyrics costar "sounded way more than me" after she was auto-tuned
Hugh Grant sings like a canary.
Grant was asked by Wired Autocomplete if he was actually singing in the 2007 rom-com, "Music and Lyrics".
The British star was candid when he spoke with Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and their "Dungeons & dragons: Honor Among Thieves” castmates (all the actors took turns answering "the most-searched queries" on the web),
"Does Hugh Grant sing in Music and Lyrics?" Pine read aloud the poster board.
Grant replied, "Yes, I do," Grant added in response. He could have stopped there, but didn't.
He said, "Actually that's false, I'm not auto-tuned as much as some," before dropping his costar in the conversation. "Drew Barrymore was there with me in that movie and I don’t think she would mind me saying that her singing is terrible."
Grant stated, "I've heard dogs bark more than they sing," without prompting.
Rodriguez was the first one to respond. He simply said "Oh snap!" Pine burst into laughter, while Rodriguez was the first to respond.
Grant said, "But having said this, she sounded way more than me once they tuned her up because she's got heart, voice and rock ’n' rolling whereas I sounded like Julie Andrews. I'm meant for rock 'n roll."
Grant became viral this week for another reason: an awkward encounter with Ashley Graham at the Oscars red carpet. See that link!
